Clayton Picks HES/3 Guitar Pick

Took me a minute to get used to- but it's really sweet. It gives a hard sound, but not as hard as stainless or bone- more like tortoise shell, and is very comfortable in the hand, and very fast.

It's weird how a stiff pick (as many jazz players know) can be so fast. I like the feel of these and the sound of them on my strings. I won;t use it on my 12-string (duh), but it's likely to become my primary pick for my Strat and LP Custom...

These definitely create a warmer tone, which mutes the treble somewhat. They feel great in the hand, and respond to the warmth of the palm, which makes them remarkably slip-resistant. However, I noticed after only two hours of playing that my pick started warping to fit my hand, almost like a shoe insole, and I'm not sure yet whether I like that. You can clearly see the bowing in one direction, like a spoon, and I know which side I played it on. Never seen this with any other picks of any other materials (and I experiment with a wide range of pick materials).

Great pick, slides across the strings smoothly and since it is THICK makes for a great lead pick. For all the studio guys out there though, it will make a "clicking" sound so not always the right tool for the job, but with an acoustic it sounds GREAT!
