Yard Machines 159cc 21-Inch Self-Propelled Front-Wheel Drive Gas Lawn Mower

I am going to try to make this short. I never bought new. I always bought used. Well my old mower that I paid 75 for 4 years ago gave out. I went searching and purchased a used self propelled Toro for almost 200.00. Started at the shop, no start at home. Took it back fixed a broken choke spring, started up. Got it home started temporarily until it hit grass then stopped completely. Took it back and they couldn't start it. They finally gave me my money back. Week later bought a brand new Toro from Home Deport. Started to mow the yard and couldn't handle the grass and sounded like it was going to fall apart, so I took it back. Considered using scissors but bought this mower. Seriously didn't know what to expect....Arrived in 2 days. The box was pretty beat up so I had my doubts. Opened up the box and the mower looked beautiful. Read the instructions. Extended the handle. Placed all the oil in the engine. Filled with gas. Started right up. Mowed the high grass with no problems. No bogging down because the grass was soaked with a week of Florida rain. Hardly had to use self propelled because it is so easy to push. My mower is very good and hope that if you buy this you are as pleased as me.

I've been using this for several weeks now. All-around great low-cost product.Features I like best: - No choke, no prime - pull the cord two or three times and it starts - Large gas tank. I don't have to refill every time - Quick on the drive. I mow the grass faster. - High clearance. Front and rear wheel sets are individually adjustable. - Drive engagement - you can engage/disengage the drive quickly with the control handle. This allows me to easily disengage when driving over concrete so I don't wear out the drive wheels.Features that could some improvement: - 21 inch cut. Wish it was a bit larger - No grass collector bag - Chute is a bit smaller than I'd like so thick and wet grass will clog the chute.UPDATE 2020:Now three years later, still running great! No issues at all.

The media could not be loaded.  Total piece of garbage. First unit only started for a few seconds and then cut out. Second unit acting pretty much the same. When I lean the unit backwards it will remain running. But who the heck mows straight up a hill, forever. Very bad quality control...I have never been so dissatisfied with anything delivered by amazon. ...

I purchased this mower to fill in while our fancier, larger mower was being repaired. I actually like this mower better because it's lighter and easier to manuever around our difficult to cut front yard. It is more than adequate. I would have bought this one instead of the fancy 4 wheel drive one, if I knew it was going to be this good. We have a large yard and this mower is very easy to handle.

This mower was easy to operate but in the middle of August I was mowing took a break & when I went to restart it the starter rope came all the way out & would not rewind looked closely & the casing the starter coil is in is plastic held down by three nuts the casing around the front nut cracked & the casing tilted I pushed it back down & the rope retracted but when you go to pull it again it tilts called yard machines explained to them was told a replacement will be sent by 10 days wait over 16 days call took three calls of all reps are busy before I got someone gave them my cade number was told the part will not be in their warehouse until the end of September & then shipped I asked so what do I do said their sorry but I have to waitmthis is ridiculous I'll need goats by then & I cannot afford another mower Thank You

I bought this mower in March of 2018 to use in my backyard that less grass and more clover-like weeds. I have a yard guy for the front, but don't ask him to do the back. Living in South Texas, the weeds in the back don't grow very fast, and I only need to mow this 4-5 times a year. I had a manual push mower that worked great, but was looking for a less strenuous solution.I used this mower 3 times before it stopped working. There is an issue with the engine - but I can't get anyone to fix it because of the crummy Chinese engine in this mower. One repair place said "we don't touch these engines, we don't even have tools that woold work on them" WTF??? They said if I could find a place to work on them I would likely pay as much as the mower itself just to get it looked at. What a piece of junk. Buy a Briggs and Stratton mower instead, and save yourself money and frustration of having a mower no one will fix!

This is a nice lawn mower. It is self perplexed and very light weight. The rubber on the top around the pull cable broke. I called the company and explained to the salesman what happened and he sent me the part free the very next day. Thank you making my lawn mowing easier due to this light weight self propelled lawn mower. Would buy again and suggest to my friends. Great customer service also.

Pluses: The mower runs well. It’s lighter than any mower I’ve ever had. Starts easily, so far.Minuses: My big problem is it often has quirky things about it that drive me crazy. Enough to knock it down to three stars. Like bolts that don’t seem to be threaded right. Don’t turn the gas cap too tight or it will be impossible to get off because the threads seem slightly off. I had to haul the thing into a service center just to get the gas cap off from a guy with brute strength. I’ve had many mowers over the years. I often barely need to ever look at the manual because my previous mowers were pretty simple and straightforward. Not this one. I’ve had to pull out the manual many times to figure stuff out and it’s a poorly written manual (to be fair, most manuals are.) The manual could be much more thorough.
