My Irish great-nephew is delighted with the bagpipes
My great-nephew is inclined to be musical, already owns a guitar, ukelele, and keyboad. For a lark I decided to give him these bagpipes for his tenth birthday as his late grandfather was Irish and his father half-Irish. He loves the bagpipes, but I wouldn't say I'm terribly popular with his parents at the moment.

Scotland Gift
I can't speak to whether or not this is a good item as a true musical instrument for learning the bagpipes. We got this as just a fun thing for the family to play with before a trip to Scotland. We had a lot of fun with it in that capacity, so we're happy in that way but if you are looking for an actual learning instrument I can't say if it's worthwhile or not.

Not a real instrument
This is just a toy. The only working part is the reed. It is basically a very expensive kazoo. But, my son has begged for bagpipes for his 6th birthday and these served their purpose.

A prop not an instrument
Pretty but not even try to play it. Super hard to blow up. We use it just as a photo prop now.

Not made well. Easily broken
My son had this for under two weeks. He was not rough with it and two of the pipes fell out with no way to put them back inside. If it is marketed for children it should be made so a child can use it and not have it immediately break.
