Virus Quarantine Food
This may be my new favorite Mountain House meal, right up there with the turkey casserole menu.If you're from the south, and are expecting a "classic" chicken and dumpling meal, this isn't it. However if you like chicken pot pies, like I do then you will be very happy with this recipe, just needs a little more pepper. Now for some history trivia for quarantine victims.Years ago, when the Navy was made of wooden ships and iron Men, the ships would store water in old wooden barrels for months on end. The water got pretty Gross even by sailor standards. One day, an English captain by the name of Grogg, found that by mixing one part rum with 4 parts water made drinking the water easier. It also had the effect of less sailors getting sick (the alcohol killed the critters in the water) and made the sailors a lot happier while stuck on a small ship for months on end.So, if you find yourself feeling cooped up and grumpy, maybe you just need to purify your water. I'm just saying...

Size has shrunk, the price is higher, extremely poor packaging
While Mountain House has been a favorite of mine for years for my emergency supplies, I am currently moving to other manufactures because Mountain House has been seriously reducing quality and shrinking the size of their servings and still increasing their price.Regarding quality, the latest order I received was very poorly packaged, six items thrown together and wrapped in packing plastic; plus one even had something dark and sticky spilled on the outside.

Less Product, More Cost!!!
Each pouch now has 4.5oz of product, rather than 4.65 before and for higher cost!!!

Better than just "survival food"
I use a Barocook flameless heater and these meals are perfect for it. It has a good flavor, but be sure and add enough water and wait for it to cook, otherwise the biscuits will be too hard. It cooks in 7 minutes in my 9 oz. cooker. The bag the meal comes in is resealable, so no worries about waste or spillage, but if you prefer to eat the whole meal at once, the bag is specifically designed for the food to be eaten out of it, so if you don't want to carry a mess kit, you don't have to. But I WOULD suggest a longer-handled spoon.

Poor quality and contamination control!
A now former Mountain House customer. The last order I received, a 6-pack... Had major contamination! I found the bags full of long black hairs and what I believe to be a hair net. Absolutely disgusting!

Easy and Yummy
It is difficult to find good tasting freeze dried food. Mountain house succeeded here! The flavor is wonderful. You could definitely share this packet with two people if you’re having other items, but I often can eat the dinner meals on my own after a long day hiking (I am a smaller female too). I also recommend allowing the meal to stay sealed in the hot water longer than recommended. Mine was not completely ready after the recommended time. Make sure it’s sealed well and give it a few more minutes. Overall easy to use and you can eat out of the bag!

Great product... hopefully Ill get to eat it next time!
I LOVE this product... in fact I waited so diligently for it to be delivered, but when the mail guy left it on top of a box in the middle of our driveway, the birds ripped open the plastic and ate all the contents!!! WTF! Unhappy, but its still a great product, I suggest buying a box or a bucket if you live in a rural area and have bird stealing issues!! PS. Ive eaten this before and it is YUMMY!

One of the better flavors...
My boys (15, 16, and 19) and I enjoy this flavor a lot. This one and Lasagna are our go-to's for dinner. The packaging is a little bulky which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, but I also love that everything is self-contained and it's super easy to make. It's a pricier option as far as backpack meals go, but for 1-5 day trips, I feel it's worth it. We only carry Mountain House for out dinners and breakfasts BTW. We have trail mix, dried fruit and such for lunch and in between snacking. And for breakfasts, we only go with the granola (using hot water, not cold). Anything with "eggs" in the package tastes un-eatable. I can't even, even when I'm super hungry. The eggs taste like soggy flavorless breadcrumbs, but worse. Chicken Dumplings... Lasagna... we like 'em!
