I want to use this on one of my expensive bags. If I apply it, will it ruin the leather? Are there chemicals on the wax?

Can this be used on clothing?

Yes. I have used it on a coat zipper and a pair of jeans. It also worked well on a backpack zipper.

does it stain clothing?

no,, very little comes off the control tip, so no reason for substance to get on clothing has worked great for me

This item worked very well on an invisible or hidden zipper on a dressy jumpsuit I was wearing to a wedding. When I put the jumpsuit on, I couldn't pull the zipper because of a tiny slender zipper pull and the zipper track was sticking. I purchased this and turned the jumpsuit inside out. I applied the zipper wax generously but carefully because I didn't know if any excess would damage the fabric. It did not. I moved the zipper back and forth until it became easier to move. I was able to get in and out of my jumpsuit without any help. I was pleased with this item and will be using it on other things.
