When we moved my 75 year-old mom into our house, we needed to make a few adjustments. She gets around quite well, but every so often she needs a little help. We knew she'd eventually need to have a hip replacement, and me with my spinal issues and future fusion surgeries, so we wanted to make the house as easy to navigate as possible. One adjustment was adding in grab bars like this in the bathrooms next to the toilets and in the showers.This bar was easy to install, though we did swap out the included screws for longer, stronger ones that were also coated against corrosion since this was installed in the bathroom where moisture can be a concern. . The one big thing to remember is to make sure you sink the screws into studs and NOT just drywall. Using only drywall anchors to support these bars isn't going to stop them from tearing out of drywall if too much weight is put on them. Sinking the screws into studs ensures the bar won't fail and cause injury. We've had this bar up for over a year without any loosening. It's still very solid and securely attached to the wall. Mom did have her hip replaced recently, and she relied on this and the other bars we installed during her recovery.We've no complaints about this bar and are pleased with the assistance it provides. The powder black coating probably isn't the best choice for use inside of a shower as it will show water marks and soap residue more readily than chrome or stainless steel. Dust is very evident on this finish as well. The finish has held up extremely well with no chips or even any scratches. Not sure how this would perform if installed outside and exposed to the elements, but it has done really well in our bathrooms.

This angled grab bar appears to be well-made. It comes with a box of hardware and an instruction sheet. There is a limited one year warranty although I don’t see an address so I guess you would go to the Ameriluck website.They recommend that this be mounted on studs. If you do not have a stud finder, you may want to have a handyman install this. Proper installation is very important since this is a safety item.Appearance is good. A label on the box tells us this is made in China.

This AmeriLuck angled grab bar is a somewhat unique design. Most grab bars are straight and need to be mounted either horizontally or vertically. This grab bar allows the best of both mounting options, both horizontal and near vertical. My mounting location did not give me the option of mounting into studs so I used hollow wall anchors, 3/16 x2". I used three anchors per flange. That should easily allow for 500lb support. The grab bar is mounted on the stairway going down to the garage on the wall opposite the light switches. It give me a place to steady myself and I turn lights on and off. After determining the mounting location and learning that I couldn't mount in to studs, it took me about 15 minutes to complete the job. Once completed, the grab bar was extremely sturdy. Should I ever have a problem with the mounting hardware failing, it's an easy chore to remove the grab bar and remount in a slightly different location. I doubt that will ever be necessary. Highly recommended and if you can't mount in to studs, get some decent hollow wall fasteners, not the type with the push in plastic sleeves. It's your life we're talking about.

We quickly discovered that this enjoyment sometimes ended up seeming more like a dance with the devil in a slippery stone-filled death trap, so we opted to install a few grab bars to give ourselves a little more security.I really like this brand as we ordered several bars from them and all are very sturdy and well made. The black bars look lovely with our black showerheads and other fixtures, and it definitely makes shower fun-time less of a terrifying tryst and more of a safe activity for a couple 7 years older and 7 years more fragile than the couple that designed this massive shower. Installation was very quick and no trouble at all, and I'm very happy with both the appearance and performance of this product so far. I would definitely recommend it not only for the elderly, but also anyone who wants to make their adult shower time a little less risky. Recommended!
