A Picture Book of Nonprofit Financial Statements

Purchased this book hoping for a very basic training since our Board is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, ages and experiences. Some are brain injury survivors and we hoped that a picture based training would fill in training gaps that regular financial trainings leave. This book halfway met that requirement. We would have liked even more pictures but the concept was good. We used the book, bought 5 packages of Oreo cookies of various colors and enjoyed an evening of fiscal training.

This practical overview should be required reading for all board members, administrators, and those in financial management positions, of a wide variety of not-for-profit organizations. This is the 30,000-foot view you've been looking for. When they ask for more, move on to the more thorough, but just as interesting,  Nonprofit Accounting & Financial Statements: Overview for Board, Management and Staff  by the same author.

This book was an easy read giving basic overview of non profit financial statements which is what I was looking for. It gives easy explanation for non financial person to grasp what financial report(s) would best suit their organization and why.

The information was not really helpful as far as a non profit went. It was a decent overview of a company and how to review the financials but more as a business, not as a not for profit.

I hope this will be helpful for the students who are primarily arts students and do not look forward to the course.

Love this book easy to read and understand . Especially for new leadership in management. I recommend this book to my peers.
