Really enjoying these!
I really enjoy these, get excited when an opportunity arises to use them, and love this option to avoid plastic wrap. So far I have mostly used them directly on food (great for covering half a watermelon) on plastic bowls, or ceramic dishes. Maybe they seal more tightly on glass bowls, but I do have trouble getting the seal really tight. For what I've used them for, this isn't a big deal.I have found them no trouble at all to wash - I wash in warm water, and rinse in cool water, air dry as flat as I can, then fold them up and put them in a drawer until next use. It's true what others have said, that red food will leave stains, but I know they are clean, so I don't care. There is no scent transmission, from the wrap to the food or vice versa. One problem I have found (which is probably more a problem with my husband than this product) is that being opaque, you can't tell what is inside. So he had no idea we had leftover pizza (but, more for me!).

Great. . . But not perfect
I love these beeswax wraps! They are easy to use and saved us buying plastic bags and wrap. They lasted about a year before starting to lose thier wax coating.I gave them a 4 star because they did pick up stains from a few different foods that could not be removed by washing with soap and water as suggested. Also, I found that they were not a good option for cheeses and bread products. Cheeses tended to mold or become hard after a day or so; bread products also. They don't create the same airtight environment created by plastics or hard containers. That said, I continue to use them for leftovers, produce and as a barrier over bowls and serving plates. I even bought a second set when the first started to wear out.

A nice alternative to saran wrap
Its been a little over 6 mons now in using the abeego storage flats. In that time, I would have used at least one box of saran wrap.I find them easy to use and easy to clean.I cook fairly often and like to use them to cover up my bowls to store any leftovers.I dont like to use plastic containers or plastic tupperware unless I absolutely have to and use the abeegos to cover over glass or ceramic. My only complaint is that with often and long time use, I do feel the wax part may be coming off of the product and lessening the tight grip the abeegos initially had when I first started using them. I am not sure how long they are meant to last if one uses them often.Even w my minor complaint, I am very happy with this product and support initiatives to promote sustainability, recycling and reducing chemical body burden.I will prob order another set within the next 6 months or whenever this set has worn out its use.

Magic, I tell ya! Kept my avocado very green and fresh!
I love Abeego! A few years ago, I received it as a gift and used the heck out of all three pieces, for quite a while. Don't remember how long, but many months - maybe close to a year. I even washed it with warm water (not supposed to! It would have lasted even longer if I'd only used cold.).This time, I will wash with cold water and find out just how long the coating will last. So, I was skeptical about wrapping my 1/2 avocado. Figured I could not get the wrap to completely mold to the avocado and therefore keep it from oxidizing (browning). But I wrapped it as close as I could. There was definitely gap between the wrap and the avoc. Lo and behold- the next day, I unwrap the avocado to find it looking very green and fresh! Magic, I tell ya!Will I abandon all plastic wrap and ziplock bags? Not likely. But I love alternatives that help me minimize the waste. Abeego is the answer!

So far, so good.
Bought these after they were reviewed on ATK as a way to reduce plastic use. Works really well for storing open lemons, avocados, etc. The large size is good for covering bowls but find that I use the medium and smaller sizes more. Sticky stuff can be a little difficult to clean off. Will be interested to see how hold up.

Great
Good quality and does what I expected. The downside is that there isn't a piece in this package big enough to wrap my homemade bread with.

The most amazing alternative to plastic wrap
I have been using Abeego beeswas wraps for almost a year now and i am absolutely in love with them. They are easy to clean, smell like a wax candle and do wonders for your produce. For example, when i wrap my avocados in them they stay fine for much longer time (i suspect because wax allows for a better and more durable seal). I really am so happy i found them. The only thing is to remember to replace them in a year.PS in terms of cleaning even when you wrap smelly things in them (e.g. onions), a wash with soap and warm water take care of any issues.

Excellent way to reduce plastic in your home. IDEAL for camping/hiking and fermenting foods like bread dough!
Love, love love. These are an excellent way to reduce plastic in your home. They are excellent for wrapping hardier food items, (not ideal for packing, say, blueberries in lunches as they cannot provide protection- they are, however, suited to transporting nuts if folded right), covering leftovers, and keeping fruit /vegfresh. You will get the hang of all the different ways you can roll and fold Abeego to transport all manners of things as well. Do be sure to work the edges together or to adhere to the side of the vessel you are covering, especially if colder than room temperature; the beeswax needs to be worked a little to make a seal. The first time I tried to use them I thought, "wow, what crap, this doesn't stick at all", but of course it will with a little work. Don't treat it like cling wrap. This is something better. As instructed, do be careful with exposure to too much heat. It will not be ruined but become discoloured, and the preservative properties of the beeswax especially can be damaged. Think that if anything is too warm to place in your fridge it is too warm for the Abeego. You shouldn't be putting something hot off the stove or microwave into your fridge without cooling it to room temperature anyhow! And much less letting warm food come into contact with extremely soft plastic, as people do with cling wrap.. yuck, think of all the plastic we are ingesting this way!I have noticed a remarkable difference in the taste and the length that food keeps when stored with Abeego. Cheese will never become sweaty and chopped vegetables retain their texture and crunch for days. Wrapping something smelly like an onion in Abeego keeps the smell to itself and out of your fridge. I will actually use it for bananas and avocados or other fruit which are nearing expiration, and this prolongs their life even out of the fridge or cellar for days. (The website does warn against letting Abeego sit in direct contact with the enzymes in pineapple however!) Abeego uses ancient, well-sourced, clean conscience and all natural materials to keep food fresh, all while in a breathable environment which, from observation, actually slows the rate of decomp. Abeego is IDEAL for storing alive, fermenting foods like bread dough, covering kombucha, kefir, or ghee etc which is my favourite use for it.Carrying something liquid in a packed lunch of course needs a (glass) tupperware, as with long-term freezer storage. But with Abeego I have eliminated my need for cling wrap and plastic bags, after having purchased a good variety of sizes. It is simply a matter of breaking old habits in order to reduce your footprint as a household, while simultaneously reducing your family's exposure to cancer-causing plastic and saving money on all those single use containers and cling wrap.My Abeego food wraps have lasted me over a year and still going strong. Do be prudent in washing in cold water and selecting a gentle soap to do your cleaning and it will prolong the life much better, as harsh detergents and surfactant-based (read: typical) soaps will dry them out. Some have stained in coming in contact with things like turmeric, tomato sauce and grease but this is to be expected with natural materials and also happens to plastic eventually. They do not smell and it has not affected their usefulness in any way. Some have also frayed only a little at the edges but not until after a year of regular use. I use them every day, in and out of the home. They are amazing for camping and hiking too as they are very streamlined when empty and hold up in an icebox cooler very well, repelling moisture. They are the best plastic free way to keep matches and other important items dry, and being biodegradable and made from natural materium makes them suitable for taking into nature.HIGHLY RECOMMEND, "EVERYONE NEEDS IT" STATUS. I am in my early 20's and so thankful I found this product early in life. Thanks Abeego, I will be a lifelong customer.

Useful, good alternative to plastic wrap, smell strong and leave taste if directly applied on food
I've been using those for the last 2 weeks. It seals quite well when reheated by the hands as mentioned by other clients. Definitely a good alternative to plastic foil. But it does smell quite strongly in my opinion, which isn't a dealbreaker as it's not bad. Though, it leaves a weird taste to the food like bread, biscuits or sandwiches - I did wrap this kind of food directly in these for my lunches and didn't appreciate the taste it leaves. I'm planning to wrap my sandwiches and bread in a coton fabric/towel prio to wrap in those which are waterproof and more occlusive. Hopefully it will protect the food from the taste.I haven't had any issue cleaning them under cold water- the wax hasn't peeled of or anything.

A welcome change from cling film
I absolutely love this product. I bake a lot and to cover my dough while it proves I would easily go through a roll of cling film in a month. Bad for the environment and my wallet. I rarely find a need to pull out the cling film anymore since I got this product. It's easy to use once warmed up with your hands or under warm water and does the job well.As others have mentioned, the strong aromatic smell doesn't affect the taste of your food at all. The only part I find a bit difficult is cleaning them, as the beeswax doesn't like hot water or soap too much. Soaking in cold water before wiping off any food residue with mild soap seems to do the trick though.
