Do you need the original ticket to ride or does this box include everything that is needed to play the game?

You need one of the base games such as Ticket To Ride US or Ticket to Ride Europe in order to play. It doesn’t include the trains or the train cards.

We have all of the versions of TTR now. My husband said our grandson was about 9 when they started. He got it about 2 Christmases ago. The 2 of them quickly learned the game and strategy. Each game lasts about 45-60 min. That is one thing that interested my husband when we selected it. Our grandson has learned quickly and has learned so much about geography. Some of the games even have an extension set. The quality of the games is excellent. We started with TTR USA. I forgot which one we bought next. All of them we highly recommend. Are the ticket cards in the India map the size of the original ticket to ride or the tenth anniversary game?

I believe they are the size of the original ticket to ride game. There are no train tickets that come with the India map, however, so you have to own one of the other ticket to ride games in order to play and use those train cards. This map only comes with the new train routes. Also, the back of the board is a fun Switzerland map!

If i own ticket to ride (germany) can i play this expansion or do i need the original ticket to ride?

As others have said, you can still play this expansion with Ticket to Ride: Germany, as you can use the trains and colored train cards from that game.
