Which parts are brass? Are the non-brass metal parts stainless steel?

Looking at the photos provided in the Amazon posting, it appears that the striker is brass and perhaps the underside of the bell. It rings nicely.

it quite working, the part that hits the bell is in contact with the bell and doesn't make a sound, it worked at first but just quit, got it for Chris

When at rest, the gong should not actually be in contact with the bell. It should only strike the bell when using the lever. I would offer that you remove the bell, with the proper tool, and check it for damage. After replacing it, if it still does not work I would contact the supplier and see if they have any suggestions and if necessary work out an exchange. Hope this helps.

Should i buy smaller size with shims so I can fit it on handle bar extender as well as handle bar without shims? @manufacturer?

I do not have extenders on my bike so I don’t know how that works. If I did and I was going to use both I might think about buying two bells and just switching them. They are rather inexpensive so it might just be easier.
