So the seller makes a big deal about how strong this tread jig is and it is indeed made from steel. However it's price point of 60$ is excessive for what it is. It works just fine and the knobs are nice but I don't think it's worth the additional cost over some of the other less expensive and just as functional jigs out there on the market.

Pros. Made from heavy duty steel. Adjustment knobs tighten down snugly.Cons.High price for what it is.Not a professional grade tool. Many less expensive options that accomplish the same purpose.No storage case. No written assembly instructions, only the video in the listing.The two triangle template pieces are only 10" , when most stair treads measure 11.25" deep or more, so tricky to draw an accurate line across the entire tread. This is tool should be half the price they are asking at most for the do-it-yourselfer who might be interested in this. Sorry, it's going to be a "no" coming from a professional flooring installer who has cut many treads in his lifetime.Star off for price, and no case.

Pros:This jig feels nicely made and is easy to adjust. It's very useful for inside to inside measurements, whether for stairs or other types of fitting (cabinets come to mind). Sure, you could do the same thing with a few sticks and some ingenuity, but this is more accurate and a lot easier.Cons:It really needs a storage case of some sort. I still have it in the cardboard box it came with, but that is not a long term solution. It's the sort of thing that really needs some protection to stay in good shape.Rather high priced for what it is.

This jig works really well just have to file down the edges as they are a bit sharp. Overall it's sturdy and hasn't let me down yet.
