One of the early books ever written on visualization and mind power.
As someone who has been a voracious reader for more than 7 decades my passions and interests has been wide and varied. Some things stand the test of time and this small 45 page booklet (Your Invisible Power by Genevieve Behrend) is an example of that saying. While shopping on line I came across this 45 page soft cover volume on Amazon and decided to purchase it. This small text was written in September of 1921 making it more than 100 years old; nevertheless, the advice and information is as relevant today as it was the time it was published. This booklet may be one of the first texts ever published on the power of visualization and the subconscious mind. The short 17 chapters cover a lot of practical and useful information. Some of the material in this manual includes: Order of visualization, how to attract to yourself the things you desire, relation between mental and physical form, operation of your mental picture-desire, expressions for beginners, making your mental picture, things to remember, why I took up the study of mental science, how I attracted to myself twenty thousand dollars, how I became the only personal pupil of T. Troward, the great mental scientist, how to bring the power in your word into action, how to increase your faith, how to make nature respond to you and other advice on using your mind to get what you want in life.I found this small booklet very interesting and informative in spite of its early publishing date.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Zen poetry moments: Haiku and Senryu for special occasions).

Will it work?
Written in 1921, it conveys a story about the author of the book traveling from New York to England to find enlightenment from an author of her time that was "The Mental Science guru." She puts forth repeatedly about you are what you think. She realizes that personal fulfillment is not something that you can obtain through others but from within one's self. There are some good practices in this book that correlates with the teachings I have endeavored upon, still the same practices over a hundred years later.Somewhat dismayed by the shortness of the book. It's more of an essay that took me a couple of hours to read. At the same time, glad it was short as she gets to the point quickly without fluff.I can't say anything to discredit the author or glamorize her as I'm sure she's gone to the great beyond. I'm grateful for this knowledge and also cringing at the attempt of indoctrination. I'll give it another read, actually use as a reference book. I'll have to align her spiritual beliefs with mine and toss the cringiness.

Not unabridged
There’s an unabridged copy of this book that I found in a pdf format. I was hoping this book would have everything. This is the copy you hear when you listen to the audio, but there are some examples included in the unabridged version, that I feel is important to the practice of the material. I won’t return the book, but it’s a little disappointing.

Great book & arrived on time. Well worth the purchase but it needs to be read a few times to fully understand the concepts in it.

Brilliant and enlightening
As perhaps the only student directly taught by Judge Troward, the author is exceptional and has written an exceptional book. The first few chapters tell the story about how she became Troward’s only student. Towards the end is a brilliant chapter on prayer which contains the best explanation of “believe you have received and you will receive “ I have read. Essentially the thought form of the thing is yours as soon as you think it. Steady recognition of this thought possession causes the thought to concentrate and assume physical form. This is why Murphys take about the man who felt he was lying to himself, is wrong: he never believed and was looking for it’s physical manifestations. Reminds me of the master’s warning: except ye see signs ye won’t believe. This book makes very clear that you focus on the thought and forget about signs. Likewise shows the error in some authors who wrongly claim it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in your affirmations. You will get nowhere fast if that’s your attitude. As Troward explains every doubt is a negative affirmation that cancels out your positive affirmation. The master likewise warned against doubt.Highly recommended together with Trowards works, Seabrook Jesus And The Law Of Attraction, Cramer and James, Divine Mental Science.
