Hoont Plug-in Electronic Total Pest Eliminator + LED Night Light - Eradicates Insects and Rodents [UPGRADED VERSION]

This is an overall honest review of the HOONT Plug-in Eliminator after two months of daily use.Moths - Don't care.Flies - Don't care.Spiders - Don't care.Lizards - Don't care.Dogs - Don't care.Parrots - Don't care.Mice - One or two seen but a majority avoided the room.I've actually found one or two mysteriously dead and I've seen a few zoned out alive ones sitting in the middle of the floor. (Very odd/creepy.)House Ants - Seen them within a few feet occasionally from being drawn to food but mostly avoid the room. I tested the Eliminator by placing a glass of sweet tea exposed under the Eliminator overnight and no pests seen by morning.Beetles - Haven't seen any.Grasshoppers - Haven't seen any.Also one annoying feature is that the Eliminator will turn itself off after a week or so and you must turn the thing back on.Other than that I'm overall impressed. I thought it would be a gimmick at first but I was surprisingly satisfied. This unit is not a total "eliminator" of pests but it will hold them at bay.(I was testing this unit from May until July 2016 in the humid North Carolinian heat.)Another very important tip is that this unit seems to only prevent infestation in the room it is plugged in. Other rooms of the house will gather attention from pests. I'd buy two or three and place them in key places around the home. (Even though that is a bit expensive given the cost.) I'd suggest at least purchasing the bundle.

The product style itself is nice, I suppose. It looks futuristic.The effectiveness of it is questionable though, and by questionable I mean it didn't work at all. The device had only one job: to get rid of two small mice. Now I'm going to give the company the benefit of the doubt here and assume the mice were deaf and highly tolerant to the powers this device claims to have. So I have mutant mice, which is possible given the high levels of toxic products in our neighborhood.The kicker was when one of the mice running across the room just stopped before hiding and looked at me straight in the eye and then shook its head as if reproaching me for buying such a useless product instead of buying food which could have benefited both of us. You win, mouse. You win.

I was sold on this item by the manufacturers claim to repel rodents living in your walls by sending magnetic pulses through your electrical wiring and by eradicating spiders and insects... I haven't found the magnetic pulse feature to do much as I'm still hearing rodents in my walls and attic after a month of use. I have one plugged into every bedroom, i guess it may work if you plug one into every outlet of your house. Turning your entire home into a giant electromagnetic pulse generator.It doesn't do diddly squat for spiders. I plugged one of these into my cellar and after a month there are still spiders crawling all over the place and building new webs.The cellar is a wide open 15'x20' room. I guess their thinking was that the built-in ionic air cleaner is supposed to clean the air from food smells which in turn is supposed to reduce the amount of flies attracted to your house, keeping the spider population down. So it doesn't repel spiders directly. Very misleading in my opinion.Another irritating part about using this product is that you have to manually select which repellent options you want to turn on. You have the option of turning on the sonic repellent, a electromagnetic pulse generator, an ionic air cleaner, or all three. So instead of having all three features on when you plug in the unit, you have to push a button on the front of the unit and cycle through the ones you want on or off. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want them on all the time. The annoying part is that if you unplug the unit or you lose power, you have to cycle through the options again. You can imagine how annoying this can be if you have units in multiple locations or in an attic or crawl space.

I live in a condo complex and unfortunately one of my neighbors has roaches and decided to share them with me. My place has been fumigated several times and the only real solution is to have the entire complex tented (which at this point is not going to happen). So I was looking for an alternative and so far using this device has yielded "zero" roaches. I have small dogs so I needed something that was safe for them. The only downfall is that the ultrasonic sound cannot go around corners or penetrate hard surfaces like furniture, cabinets, walls, or ceilings. You will need one unit for each room where you have a rodent problem which is small price to pay.

Everything sounds good in the description but what they don't tell you is every time the power drops for a second or two you have to use the button and go through the process to get the three lights back on. If you have daily power drops like my area does it is a big pain in the neck. No lights, not working is my guess.I would return both if I could but return time has passed.There are better ones without the pain.Larry

This does nothing.I have spider & unknown bug problem. I don't know what this bug is called but we have many coming and out of our apartment so I was hoping this would eradicate them all. but nope. Still showing in and out and sometimes RIGHT NEXT to the thing. My husband told me to toss it but I thought, "hey let's wait a little and give it a try. it said that it may come out more in the beginning because they are being alerted and evacuating their home." NOPE. they were just hanging around like they always do. completely , COMPLETELY useless. one star is for the nightlight. glad i got this for $23 (still a lot), don't know why anyone would buy this for $60.

This is a update from my original review. This product doesn't work. It does reduce the vermin from lingering but it doesn't fully deter it from coming back. Once a rodent sets it's path it remembers it. I had thought it was gone for about a week then I heard it at 5:30am today. It seems like it's using my walls as a path for it set route in and and out my place.

Have recently had an issue with field mice coming into the house at night via the airbricks and eating cat food - tried catch and release mousetraps for a while and caught a few mice but didn't seem to have any effect on the little blighters coming back for more. Finally caved and bought three(!) of these devices to try unleashing some science but as far as I can tell they've had absolutely zero effect on mouse behaviour whatsoever. Maybe they really annoy spiders, maybe they're the bane of bats?! They don't work on mice.To add insult to injury, the devices look cheap and they're constantly lit up like Christmas trees with no way to turn off the illumination.

This realty works! Mouse in the kitchen = gone. Flies in the kitchen = gone. Spiders- no longer an issue. It doesn't kill the insects and mice but drives them away by the high frequency sound etc. I gave it four stars instead of five, as I'd like it if the device automatically covered the whole room without having to have a clear pathway. Would definitely buy again if needed.

I was given one of these pest controls by a relative and after using it for a few months found that it was very effective in controlling flies and mice, consequently I purchased two more. I also recommended it to a friend in Germany and purchased one which was sent to him. Most impressed with the item.

Ordered this to get rid of flies & since it arrived we have not had one in the house. Don't know about anything else yet as we are not bothered with rodents

Difficult to know how effective these are. Have a small invasion of ants after building work. They are still present but only in small numbers.

It didn't achieve any positive results . I've left it switched on in the loft for a month and its made no difference. I am going to request my money back.

Rubbish if anything it attracted bugs

A couple of weeks after I plugged the device I saw a mouse walking in front of me like nothing ever happened! what a phoney!

Seems to work. I 'll know in summer. Less mice seen.

Seems to be doing the trick

It's early days but I haven't heard any mouse activity for 2-3 days now. It's been plugged in for about 5 days. Nice to get rid of our little rodent friends humanely!!

Arrived quickly! This is a replacement for one that stopped working after 6 months hope this one doesn't die as well.

This with a regular flea treatment will rid your home of pests, great product.
