Great product for the price
This has added so much to out TV watching experience. Woofer is just enough to know it is there but not be too annoying. So much easier to hear things and some things, like gun shots, can be quite shocking. Sound quality? My not be for audiophiles but for our ears it is great. Remote control for adjustment is nice - one set up you may not need to use it again. Bluetooth connections to our smartphones is easy and works a lot better than the smaller remote Bluetooth speakers. I like the fact that the woofer is a wireless connect - just plug it in and go.

Worth every penny
I originally bought a TCL sound bar that didn't work out so well, I decided to spend a bit more and get this one. My dad has a Sony sound bar and sub for a few years now . It's the model below this one and he's never had a problem with it. This sound bar does offer Bluetooth but I decided to run an optical connection instead. I have it connected to my BenQ Ht 3550 projector that doesn't have the ARC HDMI. The optical input works just fine. I love the remote because it allows you to play with different sounds and it also allows you to adjust the bass which is very nice also. I think it sounds great and would fit a rather large living room as mine does. I can't turn it up all the way . It does get very loud and the bass thumps . I do have a Klipsch 9.1 but it's in storage and this is much easier to set up and take down when I'm ready to change.

Great sound but not smart
Works great but, not a smart sound bar will stay on whole time even when tv is off.

Great sounding soundbar for the price
Sony Support was very helpful in getting it set up as at first I was not getting any sound from it. They changed some setting on my TV and it started working. They also helped with a distorted sound issue I was having which was not related to the sound bar but my computer program playing videos. Overall for the price it is definitely worth it. Good quality sound.

Sony plus Sony does not equal excellence
I was previously using a TCL soundbar and subwoofer which started to not turn on half the time I would start up the tv, so decided to finally part ways. I purchased this one because it has good reviews and I recently got a Sony Bravia TV. I thought keeping it in the family must be the best path. Well I was wrong. The sound quality of this bar is barely half of what my cheap TCL was. It sounds like a boombox. The speakers built into my laptop might be better. Watching movies, playing games, listening to music… it’s all much less enjoyable now. There’s also a lag when adjusting the volume. It’s enough to make it really annoying. I will be shopping around for something else.

Awesome sound bar
Blown away by the performance. Was looking at a cheaper option and went to Best Buy and compared with others LG/Samsung. Nothing else compared in the price range. I have a large family room and it fills the room with quality sound when watching movies and tv with good audio. 100% recommend this product for what it is A sound bar. Now it’s NOT A component system 5.1- 6.1 which I’ve had in my last 2 houses professionally installed. Set up and blue tooth were easy.

Great Sound Quality, But Some Minor Limitations
I recently purchased the Sony HT-S400 soundbar to replace my old Sony soundbar, which had started to experience issues with low volume playback. Overall, I am pleased with the upgrade, as the HT-S400 offers significantly better sound quality and bass. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks that I would like to highlight.Let's start with the positives. The sound quality produced by this soundbar is impressive. Whether I'm watching movies, listening to music, or playing games, the audio is clear, immersive, and rich in detail. The bass response is particularly noteworthy, delivering deep and powerful lows that enhance the overall listening experience. Additionally, the build quality of the product is excellent, reflecting Sony's commitment to durability and aesthetics. However, there is one recurring issue that I've noticed with this soundbar, which is similar to my previous Sony model. When the volume is set at a low level, the sound tends to shake or become distorted. It's unfortunate that Sony hasn't been able to perfect this aspect, as it can be a bit frustrating when trying to enjoy quieter moments in movies or music. Nevertheless, if you primarily listen to audio at moderate to high volumes, this issue is unlikely to be a significant concern.Another aspect worth mentioning is the Bluetooth range of the soundbar. While it works flawlessly within a reasonable proximity, I have experienced some skipping and interruptions when I move too far away in my 500 sq foot studio. It would have been preferable if the Bluetooth range was more extensive, allowing for seamless connectivity throughout the entire space. However, this limitation can be easily mitigated by keeping your device closer to the soundbar. In conclusion, the Sony HT-S400 soundbar offers excellent sound quality, impressive bass, and a solid build. Despite some drawbacks related to low volume performance and Bluetooth range, I am overall pleased with the product. If you primarily use the soundbar at moderate to high volumes and don't require long-range Bluetooth connectivity, this is a great choice for enhancing your audio experience. Sony has almost perfected the product, and with a few minor improvements, it could easily become a top-tier soundbar in its category.
