Brightest Day Omnibus (2022 Edition)

My husband is a Green Lantern fan, and I try to buy him all the Green Lantern related omnibus volumes I can find for special occasions like his birthday and Christmas. He was very happy with this gift, and I've earned lots of brownie points as the hobby-supportive wife.

Nice to have in collection.

My comics are now complex! The art work is spectacular as usual if it is affiliated with Geoff Johns complex stories. I read Blackest Night last year to prepare for this, but honestly should have read it right before Brightest Day. The story is confusing and you feel like you are still missing huge portions of the story. What's more he is dealing with about a dozen stories at a time which are all interconnected. So while it appears disjointed and fragmented I suspect I missed about 5-10 years of source material which would have made this story more meaningful. Quite frankly I wish I knew what I was missing, since unlike the silver and golden age comics they are not stand-alone stories. I had a similar problem with his Green Lantern series but not the JSA Omnibus. Never-the-less I will read this again.....it is a bargain now at $37 on Amazon....so grab it before it becomes cost prohibitive like Infinite Crisis.

Better than expected, loved it. Geoff Johns never disappoints with his writing and the art alway makes for a better read.
