Fantastic for a great nights sleep
This is an amazing cooler on hot sticky days and nights, used a lot since buying with perfect results. Very easy to use, looks nice and whilst a quite heavy to put away in the loft in winter it has been a life saver for a comfortable sleep. Wouldn't be without one now. You pay for what you get so whilst some may thick its expensive you really can't compare to the old fashion fans that just blow hot air around your room. this not only sucks out hot air but pumps lovely cool air down to 16 degrees. Noise level is ok, can be noisy of full speed but small price to pay.

Relief for the hot weather, but beware it's noisy.
Portable air conditioners are noisy. 54 decibels on low at idle kind of noisy. Think of walking behind a restaurant and you can hear the evaporators outside – that goes for all portable air cons as the evaporator is built-in. But it's not a bad way to keep cool in the summer heat. The air in the room feels crisp and refreshing when compared to other rooms in the summer heat. In terms of energy, it costs us about £0.32 per hour to run, so it's not great not terrible in that regard. I haven't tried the dehumidification setting yet, but there is some water pooling in the built-in reservoir already – I guess I have to put it on a small table to drain it, as the opening is almost flush with the floor. We tried sleeping with it on the first night we bought it – I couldn't bare it, my partner slept like a log. I've since purchased some reusable ear plugs for around £8, and they seem to have done the trick. Last night I used the timer function for two hours until we fell asleep, and that worked well.Another thing I had to purchase was window covers, as we have top-hung, outward projecting windows in every room. They do a good job of holding the supplied cheap hose, but I am thinking I might need another hose in the near future, as the one that comes with this product is super clunky. An ideal solution would be to drill holes through the wall to and attach the hose to that, but we can't do that since we're renting. All in all, a good solution for the British heatwave. We will see how long it lasts, but for now it's been a releif having it in the home office.

Heavy
Great air conditioning unit. Couldn’t survived this hot with a baby without it.Best bit- easy to use and really does cool the room. Not ideal- it can be a little noisy, it’s very heavy if you need to move it between kids bedrooms on different floors. The tube that goes out if the window is quite big and not that long.It did stop working after three months, but contacted the supplier and issued a refund immediately, others have said there’s worked for years, so would buy again.Definitely recommend though

Third year of use!
I'm slow to review products like this one, simply because its impossible to tell their quality jver time when you first purchase them. However!Having just set it up this year, for its third year of use, I'm happy to say its still working just as well as when I first bought it.Overall, love this thing. It's my 10 y/o black labradors best friend, he loves napping in the cool air stream. And it's made the last two years summer heat spikes so much more bearable, and its now doing the same for this year too!Its pretty noisy, but thats to be expected as far as I'm concerned. No home AC unit is going to give you an absolutely silent room. But it's no issue for me, my sleep remins uninterupted by it.The window vent is a bit flimsy, so I used some padding and such to improve the seal with the window and frame. All good.It cools my room down in a matter of minutes. I like to turn it on before the room heats up to maintain a cooler temperature when able since I find this more efficient. But it can take it from, say, 24 down to 20 no problem.Sometimes have a little battle of wills with getting the cooling system to start after it's been turned off for ¾ of a year. But I can't really blame it for not wanting to wake up.I can't say I really use the timer, as I just turn it off and on as I feel is necessary. But it's a good size, not too big. And it does just exactly what I want it to. I cant claim to have stored it away meticulously, either. But its pretty easy to take the filter panels off to clean the dust and such. All in all I'm extremely happy with this, and for now 3 years of cooler sleeping conditions in summer it was very worth the price in my opinion.
