The blade has a nice edge on it. It does the job I need it to do. The screws on the handle loosen on occasion, nothing a Phillips can’t handle. Overall I am happy with it.

I got this draw knife today and could not be more pleased. Solid quality construction with full tangs into the handles. The unit arrives razor sharp. the build quality is excellent. I make walking sticks from natural wood and used this knife today. It does a beautiful job. Easy to use, however, you have to master the touch because it will cut whatever you put in its path. I could not be more pleased with the purchase. Let me note that full tangs into the handles and the fact that the handles can be removed for servicing creates great strength and important serviceability. Do follow the instructions provided--this draw knife is not stainless steel--it is manganese steel--it will rust. The manufacturer says repeatedly that you should oil the unit--don't argue, just do it. If you don't, do not file a low rating because the unit rusted--that's your fault. It is so solid that if it breaks, it is probably your fault too. It is well built and strong.
