SMK-Link VP4155 RemotePoint Emerald Navigator SE,Black

We love SMK products for their range, accuracy, ergonomics and the overall feel of them. This one, does not have the range to begin with and it arrived with a bad remote (most likely) constantly dropping connection.Although Amazon sells it with some support, they kicked it over to the manufacturer. I spoke with a very polite customer service agent offered to replace the remote and that I should be receiving it in a few days... A month later, I am still waiting!!!

We bought this for our worship services and found it ok, but not great. When plugged into a computer behind a media station the signal wouldn't go more than 5 feet through the wooden station. We had to get a USB extender and place the USB receiver on top of the desk without an unobstructed view of the stage to get the distance advertised. Additionally, I thought this remote (similar to previous Emerald remotes from SMK) was programmable (i.e. reprogram the buttons on the remote to be something other than left and right arrow), but this is NOT the case. The Emerald remotes are no longer programmable, you need to purchase SMK's Jade to still get the programming feature.

I have used the SMK remotes for many years and the one purchased via Amazon is a backup to the one I have. I highly recommend the SMK remotes. I have used and owned many other non-SMKs too.
