Sunday Morning Praise Companion: 33 Favorite Contemporary Worship Selections (Sacred Performer Collections)

This collection of praise hymns is new to me. I purchased the book for one particular piano student who plays in this style. “How Great Thou Art” was a favorite of hers. The pieces are intermediate level. The rhythm can be tricky, but all the 25 or so pieces that I played before assigning the book were enjoyable and quite pretty if you like this style of hymns playing. The pieces do not have words. They would be suitable for gathering music, preludes, and offertories.

This collection provides 33 P&W piano solos in one volume, very convenient. The arrangements are more interesting than some others I have used, mainly because the bass part is not just a pounding out of the same chord over and over. [If you play P&W piano, you will know what I mean.] The music is not too difficult nor too simplified. I am using it for pre-service music for our contemporary worship service. I have bought many other books of P&W piano music, and this is the one I find myself going back to over and over. I would recommend this for any pianist who has to provide piano P&W during moments when there is no singing or band playing or just for your own personal enjoyment of the music.

I bought this book because I knew a lot of the songs that were in it, and it's hard to find a book like that. I didn't quite realize that it was all arrangements. The arrangements are a little different. Some of them stick pretty well to the original tune, with a few variations, but others have more variations, and less of the tune. It is a nice challenge to play, because they are arranged with different time signatures within the piece, but I'm not a big fan of the way some of the arrangement's are done and sound. I'm keeping it anyway for the songs I do like.

Good selection of praise songs. Good for intermediate students of the piano

I am thoroughly enjoying this book! I'm not an advanced pianist (yet), so it challenges me a bit, which I wanted, and after I've learned the song well they are easy to embellish.

If you need something to play for different events in the church year, this book has what you need. The arrangements are nice and don't need a lot of practice time.

Another Great Book - after 50 years as an organist my books are starting to fall apart. Love that Amazon carries such a great selection.
