This product is well-made and seems strong and absolutely fit for purpose, very important when that purpose is to save a life. I give EASE OF USE a 3 only to flag that unless you are good with a drill, you cannot use this until you have someone drill the hooks into position. Alternatively you can purchase the 'hooks'. I did, but the hook part is too small for my window sills – so if you think the hooks also answer your drilling issue, do measure the distance the hook as to hook over, and check against product measurements. I would recommend this product.

This is a very sturdy and well-made product which is reassuring given its potential use. I live at the top of a five-storey block with only one flight of stairs and no fire exit so I figured it would be prudent to have this just in case, especially as a fire apparently occurred in the block a number of years ago. I purchased the 20 metre ladders but measured them twice over when they arrived and they come to about 57 feet in length (about 17 metres) so not quite the length advertised, which could be potentially dangerous. Thankfully I've estimated I only need about 40 feet so I do have some excess but as a warning to others perhaps make sure you measure the length you need carefully and double check before purchasing that you have the correct length of ladder to match it and check it again once it arrives.

They are not for heavy use as they break, not good for regular use and risk of breaking quite high
