I'm a general handyman and while I always have a olfa blade in my tool belt there are times where you just need a real knife. This is a good all-rounder knife that comes razor sharp. The carbon steel blade is a plus at this price point, though I haven't owned the blade long enough to comment on it's ability to hold an edge. I will be disappointed if it doesn't out perform a stainless blade in that respect (and I'll update my comment to reflect that if that turns out to be the case). The handle is perfect imo. The hard plastic material is just what I was looking for. Durable, easy to clean. There are many knives with fancier handles, but this is comfortable and practical. The handle size is perfect too. I have fairly large hands but I can fully grip this knife without my knuckles feeling squished between the front and rear quillon. I don't feel the blade will slip out of my hand, whether i'm stabbing slicing or prying. The blade length makes it a nice all-rounder utility knife. Short enough to fit comfortably to on a belt or chest strap without affecting your range of motion, but long enough to work for most jobs. The included sheath is also a huge plus. It quickly and easily fastens to a belt and it stays there! It's a two-handed job to get it off your belt once you've put it on. It stays right where it should as you pull the knife in and out. And the sheath captures the knife with just the right amount of tension. Enough that you can mount the sheath upside down on your chest and not have the knife falling out on you, but not so much grip that you pull your pants up trying to remove the it. A hard plastic sheath is the way to go. Cloth and leather ones are just too floppy. Or they require a flap with a button to hold the blade in (which makes getting it in and out much slower and more of a pain in the butt). Morakniv sells more expensive blades, and of course there are other brands too, but I look at them all and don't like them as much. The differences seem decorative, not functional. Handles with rubber grips, or multiple colours. Blades with more elegant profiles or more polished sides. I'll pass on all that fluff. This is a knife for work not for show, and at a price that says "use me or abuse me".
