Love this!
WOW! I love my new Orion!I was not sure what to expect since there were only 2 reviews on Amazon. One from a verified purchaser giving it a 5 star rating and the other from an unverified purchaser with a 2 star review. I figured I would take the chance because Amazon will give you your money back if you don't like it.I LOVE IT!My Nintendo Switch is great, but some games are just better on the TV because I cannot read the words or see differences in some icons on the Switch's small screen. I never realized how small the Switch screen was until I bought the Orion. The price seemed a bit high to me before I bought it, but now I think it is a bargain. The 11.6" screen seems bigger than it is, and I can never go back to the tiny screen on my Switch. Here is why I think it is a bargain.1. Orion has an IPS panel, and the color is great. The reviewer that said it was not IPS was not telling the truth. While it was hard to find on the box, it says so in the specs on the bottom of the box (hint make it more visible). I have used TN panels for years and it was pretty obvious to me by the great color that this was an IPS even if I hadn't seen it on the box.2. The Orion has an HDMI input for laptops or other game consoles. I tried it out with my laptop and it worked great. I didn't take the ergo grips off, so it looked a bit funny but it would look pretty normal as a portable monitor without them. It even worked with just HDMI power from my laptop and no battery pack.3. The Orion is super light. Not anything like I expected. Even with my Switch inside and my battery pack attached, it was light. Maybe all together 2 pounds but I didn't weigh it.I do wish it had come with a short USB cable, but I ordered some from Amazon. I got 3 short cables for $9 with almost 5,000 reviews. So I give it 5 stars, but I hope they put a USB cable in it someday. Maybe they could offer a battery pack and some kind of case as well.

It is what it is...and actually is a little more than what some people might think....
I'd already seen and read multiple reviews when I decided to purchase the Orion, so when it finally went on sale I ordered one. It's basically as described, a jumbo display for the Switch (any non-Lite version.) It's not a high-quality display, it's not as good as the OLED on the newest Switch model, and with a WXGA (1366x768) resolution, it matches neither the HD or FHD resolutions that the Switch normally outputs, so it'll have to scale the image resulting in it being slightly blurry. And, of course, it requires external power, specifically 15 V at at least 2.6 A. So why is that all OK? Especially when you can get a portable monitor, often one that can do power and video over a single USB-C connection (HDMI and/or DP Alt Mode) for around $100.Well, it's because that $100 won't work on the Switch like it will on, say, the Steam Deck or any of the portable Windows handhelds from Aya, GPD, Ayn, etc. Those devices will generally do video out from the aforementioned USB-C ports using a video Alt Mode, which the Switch can't do. The Switch has to be docked (and the dock needs to see that specific, out-of-spec power profile) in order to output video...and that's what makes the Orion unique: it's actually a monitor with a built-in dock, which doesn't seem to be appreciated or acknowledged by some of the people who've reviewed this thing. While it's not perfect, and it makes quite a few compromises to work, it's a very niche accessory that does what it has to do to work with the Switch. And that's why it carries a price premium, although I think around $200 is the max that's acceptable for what it is (especially this late in the Switch's life cycle.)Beyond all that, it's a product that does what it claims to do. I tried it out for several hours with No Man's Sky on my original Switch model, and had a blast. I set the output to HD instead of FHD due to the necessary scaling from either resolution due to the Orion's different display resolution, assuming that in docked mode it should get the benefit of the higher-power performance mode, to a greater degree with the lower resolution. The game played and looked great; it might not have been as sharp as if the output matched the display's resolution, but it was very playable and easy to read text. The massive display size easily outweighed any reduction in sharpness. The speakers are acceptably loud and clear. The whole package definitely has some heft, but I didn't think it's that bad, especially coming from the Steam Deck; also, because the USB port is out the side, you can easily rest the bottom of the Orion on a surface. The only negative was that it's a little hard to slide a game cartridge out of the Switch while it's docked and sitting flush against the back of the Orion. But yeah, if the price is right, this is an excellent accessory to those of us still enjoying the Nintendo Switch going into 2023.

Cool product, but mine is defect
The media could not be loaded. First I was very happy to have it. Haven‘t used it much, but now the sound output ist not working anymore/correctly. Also ingame it is lagging often. Whether with power connection or powerbank, I also tried with three differrent Switches. I started a return but I need to send it back on own cost, Amazon told me they‘ll cover the cost afterwards. I hope it’ll work. I have waited a few weeks till it was delivered to Germany. I‘ll reorder after getting the refund. Now it ist 40$ cheaper. Unhappy situation for me. Will update this review.Update: return has finished and I‘m unsatisfied with the result. I got the refund for the item and custom fees, but I had to write several times to Amazon customer support to get the shipping cost back. Three Amazon employees told me that I should not worry about it. I had to write again and again and got only a gift card instead the money back onto my bank accout which is bad for me, because I‘m living in Germany and I don‘t think that I‘ll order again on Amazon USA when the process is that complicated.
