We wanted a small sturdy stool to accent our new bedroom set. This stool is nearly a perfect match. I was a bit concerned because other reviewers complained of assembly issues. I HAD ZERO PROBLEMS ! This stool was very easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. I do have a lot of furniture assembly experience so this was easy. I believe a novice could put this stool together with little difficulty. I did use a little wood glue to keep the joints tight but It’s not required. At 6’2”, 210 lbs. I can stand on this stool with no fear, although that’s not what we purchased it for.overall we are very happy with this stool and would recommend it.

Yes, this stool did have the assembly problems described by other reviewers. Nonetheless, I decided to buy one to try, since the design and price were so attractive. As soon as I opened the package, I was pleased with the evenness and polish of the finish. The wood looked sturdy. (I was considering buying these to replace the long benches in our athletic club.) Since the reviews had alerted me to the potential for misfitting parts, I was prepared to have to deal with it. In reality, one of the pegs was offset from its hold. It was a minor effort to force that leg the 1/8 inch needed, and within five minutes, I had all the legs in place. Inserting the screws was straightforward. I then put the stool through some practical testing. First I used the stool in our locker room and found the seat to be more comfortable than a flat bench. (Note that the curvature of the seat is not as much as in the Amazon picture,) The stool was very stable when placed on low-pile commercial carpeting. I then had one of our largest members sit on it; he's well over 6 feet tall and weighs north of 250 lbs, I estimate. No buckling or stability problems. I'm now about to order the rest of our needs.

It is beautiful and just what I hoped for.That said, you need to be good at putting things together. I started at the bottom and put all the wood screws in first half way. Tip: Use a 2" or 2.5" inch short screwdriver. Did the same for the allen wrench screws. Then I went backwards - tightening all the allen wrench screws (making the rounds 2x) and did the same for the wood screws. Tip: Tighten everything by hand - tried the electric drill and almost stripped one of the heads on the screws.So the wood screws took some elbow grease (a good physical effort) and patience but it was all very worth it. It is really a beautiful and solid little piece of furniture and functions for just what I need.

The stool was very had to assemble. The parts do not fit together very well. The pre-drilled hole for bolts do not line up very well. I could never get one of the bolts in. The wood screws are holding everything in place. On the positive side, it is comfortable and looks good.

I am using it as a high foot stool for the chair at my standing desk, and it is working very well for that purpose. I was initially hesitant as there were so many reviews that said it was hard to assemble. Because of them I put all the screws in very loosely at first, and then sequentially tightened them. It worked fine. If I had not done that, I am thinking there would have been a few that I couldn't get to line up.

Some reviews here referenced assembly trouble, but I had no problems assembling this sturdy little stool in less than 15 minutes. Simple process. Just remember the basic rules for assembling wooden furniture: (1) read the instructions through to the end before you start, (2) always use wood glue on the joint, and (3) don't tighten any of the screws all the way until all of the screws are in place and then gradually tighten each a bit in turn until all are tight in place.This makes a nice little seat in an area where we did not want the bulk of a chair in the room. Very solid and sturdy. Handsome and simple in design.

This little stool is study, light weight and fit a normal height table.

This is a beautiful stool, made of solid real wood, but you need some basic carpentry skills to assemble it. The pegs on the bottom of the seat don't match up with the pre-drilled holes in the legs, but I whittled the pegs a bit with a utility knife until I could get then to fit. The screws for attaching the cross bars to the legs are about a half inch too short. Luckily, I had four screws on hand that were long enough to actually do the job. Now that it's assembled, I love it! Great price, if you've got the additional tools and skills to put it together. Otherwise, you will be disappointed.
