Nearly dust less sander
This was amazing tool to use. I sander an entire ceiling with hardly any dust on the floor or counter. You have to ajust the little vents on the handle to control the vacuum. It does add some resistance do the suction on the wall, however it's well worth it for a dust free sanding. The handle is a little light weight and maybe not made for every day use, however for a dyi person it's awesome. It does come with one sanding screen at 150 grit that I think can be aggressive. I recommend you purchase 220 grit screens for a smooth finish .

One of the Best Things Since Sliced Bread
Despite a few negative reviews, I couldn't help but wonder if it would really work. I came back so many times, and finally just ordered it. It came fast along with other products I had ordered. First impression was wow, it seemed fairly sturdy and came with those extra fittings to help fit it all together. We have a sears craftsman 20 gal. wet/dry vac. and we were able to fit this on with the adapter. We also were able to use a hose off an old shop vac to make it even longer. These adapters were a life saver.I turned it on and started testing it out on a large area of drywall covered with joint compound that was dry. I was so amazed that I had to show everyone and get them to try it. My husband who had been negative about such a product came around to liking it. I mean, all us girls in the family will never live without it again. We almost want to buy another just in case this one happens to break so to have a backup. I like it that much. I like that as I'm checking the wall, it stays on the wall with suction. It frees my hands up, and I don't have to keep bending down repeatedly to pick it back up. Depending on what your doing the suction can also be adjusted. I didn't think I would actually care or need that function but I did. Once I moved into texturizing the wall it needed to be a bit lighter touch, and by adjusting the suction it made it perfect. The dust level was low, which is important with a little one in our home. We had put off a few projects for that very reason. I will still use caution, and proper airing techniques, but this product makes it a cinch to set up knowing I don't have to hang partitions like on a job site.I totally recommend this product for anyone who has to sand drywall, joint compound or anything like that. Also will be using it to sand a painted wall to degloss it. I think it was worth every cent.Update: I still own this product. It is still in good condition and we are using it for a room remodel/kitchen and family room. I still recommend this product. My son in law bought it when he saw mine and he doesn't regret his purchase either. As we like to say, the greatest gadget since razor blades. I still have no regrets on this purchase. Just wanted to let everyone know, it's holding up just fine for us.

Sanding screen is problematic
I've been putting off several projects, including sanding the kitchen ceiling and walls after repairs from water damage. Even if you cover everything, the kitchen is the worst place in the house for dealing with drywall dust. So, having completed that project, here are my thoughts.Pros:+ Amazon delivered on time.+ Everything was in the box and undamaged.+ The product is sturdy.+ Putting it together and hooking it up to the shop vac was easy.+ The suction is good once I figure out how to set it.+ The price is reasonable.Cons:- The manual is horrible. It took me a while to realize how to adjust the suction.- The sanding screen is cheap, leaving grooves I had to smooth out later without a dust-free system (I held the shop vac under a sanding block).- The Amazon links to other sanding screens and paper are not compatible. So, overall, it did a good job with dust. I will use it for the roughest part of sanding, but I will still be dealing with some dust without a compatible fine sanding screen or paper.

Well made design with adapter that will fit any vacuum. Dust levels are practically zero.
I could cry when I first used this terrific improvement when sanding drywall. It's the best invention ever, and this product seems to be well designed and comes with an adapter that will fit any vacuum. Money well spent for an extremely effective product to keep dust levels to a minimum.

Cost effective, dust collection.
Works great, I used this for smaller patching jobs.

Inexpensive and works, but could use design improvement
Purchased this to use in my basement that we are finishing. It definitely reduces the amount of drywall dust floating around. Only downside is the hose disconnects from the sander handle, which can be frustrating. If there were a clamp or lock to prevent it, that would be great.

This thing really sucks!!! But in a great way!
I removed a large thru the wall air conditioner in our living room and needed to do some sanding due to some heavy patch work that had to be done. This was a life saver as my wife was so concerned that there was going to be dust everywhere when I started sanding. My initial attempts of holding the vacuum nozzle below where I was sanding were inadequate and allowed some dust to escape. After having to dust the living room I decided to see what options were out there and found this and damn did it work well! Not an ounce of dust anywhere as I sanded the surfaces smooth and got them ready for primer. The large sanding pad and hose connection made this easy to use and to keep the surfaces flat and smooth. I stood on a folding step stool while doing the work and never had an issue with using it. It pulls the dust from sanding without sucking to the wall and is easy to use.NOTE - I strongly recommend using a vacuum with washable and HEPA filters. A shop vac works but without a quality filter and an internal bag, fine dust will get out the exhaust and you will regret it. I ended up using our Dyson with two sets of filters so one was drying out while the other was filtering out the spackle dust.
