Thicker. And easier to install than that other famous brand
I replaced a set of Extra Chunky grips with these and was a) surprised at the large increase in hand comfort and feel, versus the small based on measurement) size increase and b) completely surprised at how much easier they were to install versus Extra Chunky grips, which I have on all of my bikes. Over time I'll replace them all with Wolf Tooth Fat Paw grips. The Wolf Tooth grips don't measure to be much larger in terms of physical size. Wolf Tooth says 36-37mm installed diameter, whereas ESI's Extra Chunky grips are advertised as 34mm. I haven't broken out the calipers (yet) but somebody is fibbing. The Wolf Tooth grips feel significantly larger and more comfortable. Worth noting is I wear Size L gloves, typically. The benefit I didn't expect but which I think was worth perhaps more than the more better grip size was the ease of installation. If you have installed The Other Leading Brand grips before, you know what I mean. I have tried both the dish soap method (don't go there) and alcohol and the results range from just being very difficult to desperately difficult. You'll make it work but chances are you will go thru a lot of drama to get there. The Fat Paw grips on the other hand were quite a shock. They *felt* like they would be as tough of a job as I expected given their rigidity and increased thickness. Not true! I did the usual alcohol bath inside and onto the bar, pressed on and got ready for the usual fight and ... poof done already! What? I thought I had another 5 minutes of cursing and grunting... Nope about 10 seconds and done. I bet I can even get them back off again without having to cut them off, which is the usual story with The Other Leading Brand. Here's a top tip: these grips are of course made of silicone. I spiral-wrap these grips using only gentle pressure with silicone self-fusing tape, many brands and colors of which are available here on Amazon. The spiral wrap pattern is exactly like you would wrap traditional ram-horn road bike handlebars. the self-fusing silicone tape fuses to the grips so it never comes off or moves. Also in short order it wears relatively smooth but still retains enough inherent stickiness to be a perfect grip tape. It also becomes a protective layer over the grip, and if you ever manage to cut up the grip tape, you just wrap on another layer in the opposite direction and boom... your grips are protected and like new again.

Awesome! Solves numb hands
I have a custom e-bike with mid drive motor running about 35mph top speed , throttle only on a flat road . It has no suspension at all. No forks , no rear shock , nothing. I added a suspension stem , while this improved the numbness from heavy riding, I now found that my bike grips were not holding up to more aggressive runs , because of the improved ride confidence with the added suspension stem so I needed better grips. In come the Fat Paw grips. Wow , nice ,grippy , absorbs shocks and gives a feeling of confidence while riding and no more numb hands. Very well worth the money. I will easily buy another set if mine get shredded or beat up.if you ride in the rain often , you may need gloves , when a little wet they do feel less grippy. But not enough to lower confidence by a fair margin.Basically they're high density foam , real simple , but excellent at absorbing handlebar shocks on heavy bumps. I think these grips will improve any ride with very low cost. They took me about 5-10 minutes to install but my bars are a little thinner than standard. All I did was use water to install them.I would suggest to get the round ones.

Comfort/Material/Pricing are all great. Durability is TBD
To preface the quality and feel of these, they feel like thicc rubbery foam and very high quality. I have relatively large hands as I'm 6'4 and I needed something better than the small stock grips that came on my bike. Before with the stock grips I would have joint pains all in my fingers and knuckles after going downhill, because to just get my palm securely on the bars I would have to completely encompass the grips with my fingers and was very uncomfortable. These are large (as you would hope) and allow me to rest my palms on the bars without having to completely wrap my hands around the bars and instead I can have a lighter grip. They've solved my join pains and they feel wonderful on technical sections of trail. They don't feel as "nimble" as the stock grips but that's something I was aware of beforehand.Comfort 10/10I haven't crashed with these on yet and I've read some reviews that mention them falling apart. I will update after I have a tumble.UPDATE: So I had a friend run into some trees on my bike and he clipped the handles while he was at it. There are now noticeable, but small, chunks that were taken out of the grips. So these definitely are NOT resilient. I'm still leaving these with high marks just because I bought them for the comfort and not their durability.

Comfortable grip for big hands
These grips are a great option for folks with larger hands. They're fairly easy to install with the help of a little rubbing alcohol. Once they're on they provide a solid, comfortable riding experience. My only complaint is that they get dirty relatively quickly and they're not as resistant to abrasion. I am glad I chose these grips and would choose them again if I had to.

Reduced Hand Fatigue !
I initially installed a pair of Wolftooth Karv grips on my Giant Talon. They were great , just a bit smallish for my liking , after 1 ride I cut them off and installed a pair of Fat Paws instead.Pros :Easy to install - spray liberally with 91% rubbing alcohol and slide ‘em on - QUICKLY !Very grippy - so grippy they’re almost tackyThey reduced my hand fatigue and noticeably reduced vibrationLooks - they frickin cool man ! I love how they look !Cons :The color bleeds . I can only speak about the red ones. They turn my gloves red lol !No biggie but some might not love it.I ride my mountain bike on rail trails only. My typical ride is 15 miles , twice a week. I installed these grips to replace Ergon winged grips which I found way too hard.Try them - I bet you’ll love ‘em !
