Trading Post 5 is a waystation hastily established in a crater on an abandoned asteroid. Here an enterprising Captain can hire traders and stock up on fuel and equipment in an eclectic bazaar of stores, workshops, bars and dens of iniquity. The new narrative campaign sees your Traders visit the Trading Post hoping for a big score. However, the aliens that they so rudely awakened have followed them back… Can they defend the settlement from its attackers trying to reclaim their asteroid home? The new Trading Post 5 terrain is made up of shops and cargo in pre-fab containers, and is populated by new NPCs, including Civilians, Gangers, and a lone Galactic Corps agent, many of which can be used as playable Traders! Requires the Core Space: First Born Starter Set to play. Small Print: This is not a toy. Figures supplied unpainted. Contents may vary from those on the packaging. Not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts. Retain packaging for future reference. Made in China. This is a great add on to core space, however it’s only useable for campaigns and experienced trader crews (players) the ships take a lot of in game currency to keep them running not to mention the starting cost of purchasing the ship in game. In my opinion this add on is awesome, however to get the most out of it you probably need a few of the other add on packs ( E.G. shootout at Zeds ) in order to actually get enough credits saved up to buy a big new ship. If you just play one off games this add on is effectively impossible to use. I personally love all the extra rules and abilities that come with the bigger ships, but could see more casual or irregular players getting a little lost and possibly annoyed by them, I would guess that unless you have played at least one campaign the new rules and skills and in game cost would be overwhelming. The game pieces are of the usual battle systems quality, sturdy and well made, all the parts were in the box as advertised, the rule booklet could be a little bit more expansive and there are a few things missing regarding the helmsman/skipper skill boards. However I think the full rules are on the battle systems web site somewhere. ( the full skill rules for skipper, crewman and helmsman are also on the core space reference cards ) Would recommend to experienced players who are committed to playing the game a lot more, for newbie’s I’d recommend other add ons first.
