Antra APX-XXX-9979 Head Gear for Antra Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

Bought to replace the headgear that came with my new Antra welding helmet. The original headgear was tight and not real comfortable. This is like night and day difference. Plenty of adjustment for those of us with melon heads and is comfortable. I like the detente used to hold helmet up, once adjusted I haven't had to mess with it and helmet doesn't fall at inopportune time like many do. Seems to be made well and price was very reasonable. So far between my Antra helmet and this headgear I am impressed with their products and excellent value.

I was sent hardware that had multiple warps and bends in the plastic. It fits and works but QC really needs to step up their game if they are going to sell used parts as if they are new

On your helmet, you may have to drill out the existing main mounting holes to 9/16” & the mounting stay holes to 1/8” . I’d highly recommend buying this with the helmet above.

I honestly like the old version of headgear better. I bought this one because it seemed more ergonomic in design, and you also can adjust the how close/far the welding hood will sit from your face. Unfortunately, I think it's a bit on the uncomfortable side, and I found myself wearing it slightly too loose in order for it to be comfortable; which sacrificed how secure it was to my head.
