Loyola Mini Backpack in Leather, Convertible Design with Adjustable Strap, Tobacco Floral Embosseed

I had already a brown Ventura Convertible Backpack from the Sak and wanted one black, but smaller. For a long time I searched other brands, stores and websites comparing all convertible purses (online and in person), but I would always come back to this one because it had the majority of the things I wanted: perfect size, style, made of leather, and versatile in 3 ways (backpack, shoulder, crossbody). I bought the style "Tobacco Floral Embossed". The leather feels soft, genuine and smells great too! The inside fabric feels nice as well. In the front of the purse it didn't have the logo of "The Sak", but I was quite happy about that since I don't like logos on stuff. My only disappointment was that the color of the braid was not what I expected. It looks like a black-blueish color instead of the natural black seen in the pictures. So it distracts me a bit because it's not the same color of the purse. Also, I thought it would be leather, but it's sort of a fuzzy texture that can eventually deteriorate or break if you're not careful. There are 3 zippered compartments, 2 in the front and 1 in the back with beige fabric. The pockets don't open very wide, so it might be a little uncomfortable trying to find quickly what you're looking for. The small front zippered compartment is a little exposed in the corners since it doesn't zip completely. The corners aren't tucked in like in the pictures. I tried to fold the corners in, but it wouldn't stay put. So if you put small things inside that pocket there is a possibility it may fall out. The main compartment has one small zippered pocket inside, 3 slots for credit cards and one pocket that is great to put your cellphone. The two front compartments have a gold/brown zipper teeth with one pull-on tassel for each. The zipper teeth in the back pocket is black with a silver hardware pull-on. All three zipper sliders and ring buckle hardware of the straps are color silver. Wearing the purse as a backpack can many times be troublesome trying to put it on since the straps can move a lot making the purse fall to one side, but once you get the hang of it it gets easier. I hold the handle to balance the purse and adjust the straps if necessary, then I put my arms through each strap while holding the handle of the purse. I don't carry a lot of things in the purse, the cellphone being the only heavy accessory inside. Since I'm wary that putting too much weight can eventually break the handle if I hold it from there, I prefer not to carry a lot of heavy things. Also, I always like to hold the purse from the bottom instead of the handle to avoid a lot of tension and reduce the risk of breaking. My Ventura Sak purse has the option to open the strap buckle to remove the straps from the purse in case you want to replace it. This purse doesn't have that option, making me being extra careful with the straps to avoid any unnecessary damage since it can't be replaced easily. I use the purse occasionally (about once a week or two), so I don't know how long it may hold up. It took about 1 ½ week to ship and then another 5 days to arrive to Puerto Rico. When the package arrived, the mail man threw the purse in my garage. To my dissatisfaction there wasn't any bubble wrap to protect the purse, it only came in a plastic bag. Thankfully there weren't any scratches. Even though I knew the purse had some issues with the straps as well as other details mentioned by other reviewers and I already had a similar experience with my other Sak purse, it was the only one in the end that had everything I wanted. I don't regret buying it and it always goes great with my outfits!

Perfect size for daily use and travel. Lots of pockets, versatile.

If you are looking for a neat, compact, and organized smaller leather bag, this is the one fir you. Quality at its finest. I've actually purchased twice because I gave my first one away. Nice, solid zippers. It's a little tight going into the top zipper compartment but feels secure. My only complaint is with the back straps. They constantly slide around but I solved this problem with zip ties! (See photo). Overall, nice, quality bag. Love the real leather look and smell.

I get compliments from strangers all the time with this bag. The detail is beautiful and the bag is durable and well made. Worth the money and looks better overtime. If I ever need too, I would purchase again. Love that I can wear it as a backpack or shoulder bag. Also holds more than you’d think, makeup bag, tampons, full size purfume, wallet and more. Lots of storage and the zippers are great quality. 10/10

I love this purse. It has enough pockets. It's big enough to hold car keys, glasses, and makeup. I can reach in and grab my driver's license or credit card quickly. I can wear it over the shoulder or cross-body. Good looking, good quality. I have worn out two of these purses so far, and I'm thinking about buying a third.

I am a big fan of the Sak brand and have been using their bags since 2008. This is my go to bag for everyday and I love that it’s versatile enough for any occasion. I’ve even worn it to a wedding. The leather gets better with age. I love that you can choose between styles, crossbody purse, backpack or on one shoulder. I am a stickler for where things go in my purse so I can blindly reach in and grab something and this purse has a place for everything I carry. I even have the matching wallet to go with it. I love the neutral brown color, definitely this purse can go with anything in any situation ideally. I haven’t hiked in it or anything but I use it everyday and I could if it came to it. My only gripe is in backpack mode, the straps are sometimes hard to get on after taking one off to grab something in the purse. The strap will move and you’ll have to adjust or just take it off and put it back on again. Not ideal to use with one shoulder then put your arm back through. A quirk I have learned to deal with but one worth mentioning. I love this purse/backpack and I have and will continue to use it as my go to everyday purse.

Nice leather material with lots of pockets but when wearing it in sling mode it hangs really low and open making it easy for someone to reach in without noticing.

This bag is everything you want in a small purse/sachel. It can be worn crossbody or as a mini backpack. Very versatile. I’ve actually had this over a year and it has held up very well. It is used for everyday use and I have had no issues.
