Closer Laptop Briefcase

I ordered this bag to replace a heavy leather messenger bag for times that I travel. I have been using this for over 3 weeks now and it is a great bag! It is lightweight, and has lots of storage. I carry a 15" laptop in the padded pocket, and like the convenience of a zipper opening that allows me to extract the laptop without opening the whole flap - especially useful on a plane. I also like the features of a key pocket (again nice for travel when you left your car at the airport) and the water bottle holder. The bag looks great and is extremely useful for my daily needs, so now I use it all the time. My only minor complaint is that the liner of the shoulder strap pad is a little slick, so sometimes it slips off your shoulder easily if you are wearing something equally slick (i.e. nylon wind breaker), but this is very minor and does not take away from a great bag!

It certainly is small unlike the popular messenger bags. I have a 13 in laptop and I got the medium size so I could put more stuff and in case I get a larger laptop. Thank goodness I did because it was a bit tight. So it would be even more so with the small size. Having said all that I prefer this size otherwise I would have gone with a regular messenger bag or old school laptop bag. It’s narrow so it can’t stand on its own but I feel it’s worth the trade off for bulkiness. I read a lot of complaints about not enough pockets for business cards, pens, etc. It’s not like there are no pockets but I agree they could have put in a few more compartments. There is no formal place for pens but you can just clip it to one of the compartments. Overall it’s a great laptop bag that brings a modern look to the typical laptop bag and briefcase.

As a long-time user of Timbuk2 bags, this is by far their best messenger bag, in my opinion. It sports a modern, stylish, but reserved and professional aesthetic that is perfect for the young professional. While certainly not as spacious or equipped with as many pockets as their "Commute" line, this bag serves me well as something to carry my things to and from the office. I have had to downsize what I put in my bag, but I definitely appreciated the shed weight. The strap and shoulder pad are very comfortable and distribute weight across my shoulder very well. That said, I have some niggles. Firstly, the metallic buckles are very loud. This does not make for discrete opening. The buckles are also very stiff, though I suspect this will get better over time. As well, the finish on the buckles is prone to scratching. I do not even know how I got the scratch, but one day, there was sizable nick. Also, beware that the medium size fits up to a 15.4" laptop. I thought there would be some wiggle room on this, but my 15.6" laptop was shy a few centimeters from fitting. Despite this, the main pocket fits my laptop fine, and has enough room for my leather portfolio folder, some documents. Even with my huge laptop charger in the second pocket, a small battery pack for my cell phone, some pens, and wireless earphones, the bag maintains a relatively slim profile. I just wish the laptop pocket was a smidge wider to fit my computer. If you're a student or professional that doesn't need to lug around a traveling suitcase full of stuff, this is a perfectly capable and stylish bag.

Great Product Perfect for my business needs

Unlike other Timbuk2 designs, this one is very 'classic' and I believe this is actually meant to be that way as this bag seems to be made for people who want a practical, often cheaper alternative to fancy business briefcases. There are multiple storage pockets here and some very smart bells and whistles like a luggage strap (to hang on a trolly) that converts into a pocket, a key holder, napoleon pockets, separate easy access padded laptop compartment and a good shoulder strap. The handle is also very comfortable. Timbuk2 had removed the feature that was previously on their Command bag to "split" the bag so it lays flat - this was a feature for airport security but I think it's smart that they removed it because it's very easy to just remove your laptop, especially if there's a separate compartment for it with easy access. I recommend to everyone that needs a casual briefcase and doesn't want to spend too much on a high end brand or a super expensive leather case but still want a practical, nice looking and well built case.

This is a great bag. I got the small size (which is unfortunately discontinued on Timbuk2 website so this is the last place you could get one). The small size (advertised for 13 inch laptops) does fit a Thinkpad X1 carbon 14 inch (tight fit). The water bottle holder is on the small side. But it does tightly fit a 24oz insulated water bottle, probably best fit for 17oz. Forget about fitting any water bottle larger than 25oz. I returned the bag due to color (the gray is too light for my taste). Unfortunately, there is no other color available with the small size on Amazon or anywhere else.

I really needed a nice bag to hold my ipad 12.9 pro, leather portfolio, and other items essential to my job position. This bag holds them all and has plenty of pockets that are convenient and nicely placed that are accesible. The quality of this bag in amazing. Looks and feels premium. You get what you pay for with this bag. I had never heard of this brand before and I can see why this has so many helpful reviews. Very happy with this purchase and is the perfect bag for anyone who just needs something sturdy, elegant, and premium to hold all of your essentials.

This bag is a great choice if you only have a few things you typically carry with you such as your laptop, a bottle, an umbrella, some documents, and other small items/equipment. It has a nice selection of compartments and it's pretty easy to keep things organized in the bag. The strap doesn't hurt my shoulder carrying it for the time I walk to and from work. Some of the parts in the strap can be squeaky which may annoy some people slightly. It's not that loud, but is something to note. Not sure how to fix that/if it can be fixed. The overall construction of the bag feels very solid, like it will last me a long time. I'll post an update if that turns out to be false later, but I'm confident in it so far. Please also know that when you are deciding to buy this bag, if it is for carrying a laptop, laptop size is measured diagonally from corner to corner. I was under the impression that I had a 13" laptop and that it would fit in the padded laptop compartment, but it is actually a 15" laptop and it does not fit in the compartment, I need to keep it in the main compartment. Not a deal-breaker but something I would've liked to know beforehand.

旅行でノートPCを運搬するためのバッグとして購入しました。今使っているPCがちょうど入る大きさなので満足しています。ノートPC収納が目的の場合、小さすぎれば買った意味ないし、大きすぎれば使い勝手が悪くなるのでサイズが最重要です。ノートPCの収納部分が薄いので現行の薄型PCを入れるには問題ありませんが、旧式の分厚いPCでは問題が生じるかもしれません。

Eine sehr stabiler und mit knapp 80 EUR günstiger Messenger Bag. Bin sehr zufrieden, fühlt sich hochwertig an und passt einiges rein. Kann den Notebbok ohne extra Hülle unterbringen. Ein Punkt Abzug gibt es wegen dem etwas zu kruzen Gurt (bin 190 cm). Den muss ich bei Gelegenheit auswechseln!

Use daily as a bag for work with occasional cycling commutes. Good quality materials Only dislike is the pen pocket is too deep so my pens collect at the bottom.

たまに会社のパソコンを持ち出すときに普通のブリーフケースではつらいので、たすき掛けのバッグを求め、これを買いました。Timbuk2のサイトではMサイズに15"のパソコンが入ると書いていますが、残念ながらメインのところにしか入りません。 パッド付の部分は外もフラップの中も無理です。たぶんMacBook Pro15"なら入るのでしょうが、持っていないのでわかりません。 *普通のノートパソコンは幅が38cmぐらい、MacBook Pro15"は35cmぐらいのようです。 でもクラシックメッセンジャーバッグのMでは深さが足りず、少々おさまりが悪い感じですので、PC用としてはこの製品の方が適しています。 サイズがわかりやすいようにクラシックメッセンジャーバッグのMとS、それにカタパルトMと一緒に並べてみました。 なお、それ以外は特に文句はありません。次回会社のパソコンを更新するときに13"にしてもらいます。

This bag is perfectly sized (small) for the urban professional. Looks great, plenty of compartments unless your obsessed with that sort of thing. Versatile and modern looking (coming from an architect). Bottle holder a little small, only fits a 375 ml Voss water bottle or an umbrella. Kind of bummed the rear bicycle riding strap was not included in the purchase (buyer beware) but over all it is a great bag.
