Amazing quality and craftsmanship. For the price it’s a steal!

Love the design and it's made well. We love how it has the drawers to store the pieces. The game itself might be a little difficult with those having dexterity issues, neuropathy, or fat fingers as the white and black pieces are light weight and small. A lot of rules. We had to watch some online videos and download a game where you play the computer to understand. I can see where they recommend a smaller game board with less blocks helpful for those just learning. Yes, the videos and download may seem excessive but we are determined and love strategy games.

Good quality board and drawers. That goes a long way towards the 4 star rating. It is smaller than the traditional set but I wanted something smaller and fairly inexpensive to help teach my kids the game. I like that drawers are attached and the bottom of the board is sealed so pieces don't leak out of the bottom either if it's turned upside down by accident. The loss of a star is because of the plastic pieces. They're fine and allow you to play but they're pretty cheap feeling plastic and smaller than I expected, which makes it a little harder for adult fingers without longer fingernails to pick up and place. My kids have no problem though. Yes, they have to be smaller to fit on the board but maybe a higher quality plastic and some more girth to it would make it better? That said, it's more than adequate for the price and its purpose, so don't let that detract you if you're looking for something inexpensive like this to have around the house and won't be too upset if it gets abused a bit.

One thing everyone should know before buying this board is the is is SMALLER than a normal board. It follows that the board will have smaller pieces so buying fancier pieces to replace the plastic ones will be a waste of money. The dimensions are in the description. The sliding drawers do not have any type of seal, but if you absolutely need one, I'm sure your local hobby shop or hardware store will have something to fix that. With that being said, I really like this board. I play for fun and have little money for extra things like this so this works well. It is easy to transport in its box. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no problem with lines rubbing off during shipping. Mine came in a larger box with many plastic air bags for cushioning and had no damage what so ever. The durability rating has no basis as I have yet to do anything damaging to it. From how it feels, dropping the board from waist height could possibly break it. I, however, do not plan on testing my theory.

Clever design to have two draws to keep the pieces. When unpacking, I made the mistake of removing the game pieces from the plastic bags. This caused may pieces to ‘fall’ out of the drawer and get ‘lost’ in the interior of the case. The drawers are NOT removable, so getting the lost pieces back out of the case took some time and a few expletives. You MUST keep the pieces in a bag that fits into the drawers, so that when moving (or storing on its side, as I need to) the game board pieces do end up in a parallel ‘case’ universe. The board size is (12 x 12 inches), though playable, could (with hindsight) have been bigger. The pieces are small (dia ~ 1.2 CM) and light (0.4 gr or 0.01 oz each). Difficult to play outside with a little wind since the pieces easily shift on the board when ‘blown’ or touched when you add / remove a piece. Large hands, as I have, are also a challenge, when working with the pieces. Good starter / beginner set, even though the included rules are minimalistic. Better to go to your local “GO” association. Amazing board, good pieces, great buy. All these people talking about "small pieces" and "drawer gets stuck" are too picky. This is not a premium board, it is a really good starter board that -- being a 19x19 -- can be used for a complete GO experience. The pieces are smaller than standard, and plastic, and the board is made of lower quality than a "nice" board would be, but it is still an amazing buy.. Want to get into GO but don't want to be constrained to a 9x9 or 13x13? This board is a really good starting place. I personally think the quality is good, sturdy board, and the pieces are good. I will be buying a nicer ~200$ board at some point with nice pieces, but not until I get familiar with the game and want a better experience.

For the price, this is a quite nice little go board. There's nowhere to put the captured stones so that doesn't really make sense. And drawers aren't optimal for getting flat stones out of obviously. Printing is ok. I think there's maybe like a slightly smudged line on it at one point but nothing that is too noticeable. A little wobbly and awkward with the drawers open. The instructions how to play are nonsensical.
