After an extensive amount of time searching Amazon for a similar kit, thousands of reviews later, I spontaneously decided to purchase this set. If you're like me, you highly considered all of the negative reviews. It's cheap/poorly made, the backdrop has bad creasing etc. I almost let this sway my decision - but after some time doing internet sales myself, I also considered no matter what you're selling, you cannot please everyone. For the price, I was impressed with this set. It was fairly easy to install. Unlike similar sets, it did come with a sheet showing all of the parts and basic instructions (that I didn't even need) The stand is fairly sturdy. It doesn't droop or sag while holding the backdrop. Did the backdrop have creasing? Yes, absolutely. They usually do. 30 minutes with a steam iron, poster board, and a piece of paper towel and it looks good as new! It was a good size as well, much larger than I had anticipated. Light stands are sturdy, and easy to adjust. I like that they have an on and off switch. Umbrellas are a decent size, and they do the job. Just a little on the cheap side, but that's alright. Clips are good and work well. Overall for the money it's a great set and I'm glad I purchased this one. Great set for any beginner. Easy to use, and of a decent quality.

Great buy for the price! This is definitely made for beginners; but it’s super easy to set up and gets the job done well. I photograph clothing for my online shop and I’m very pleased. I don’t plan on “upgrading” at all. Based on the durability it’ll last at least 2 years and with the amount of my workload - it’ll get a LOT of use! The backdrop does arrive with wrinkles but they all do... simply hang it for a few days or gently steam the back if you need it right away! Zero complaints here. The lighting is great. Overall I'm very happy. Arrived fast, packed well, super easy to set up, and nice and compactible when you want to take it all down. Set up was crazy easy! I was a bit dissapointed at the lighting output and will shop on my own for brighter bulbs if they exist. Regarding the creases in the backdrop...they were significant. I didn't want to give up though so like suggested, I ironed it. I thought i was going to melt it so I had my iron setting really low, but the creases wouldn't budge. So I kicked the iron up to max, put the steamer on, and ironed away. It definitely took some time, but I eventually got about 90% of the wrinkles out. It was worth the time put in to it. Overall for the price, I'm extremely happy.

I'm happy I picked this kit up. While I may still move to soft boxes for my lighting needs this kit seems to allow the amateur to get into having a portable "set" for not a lot of money. The lights are decent and the right color. The stands are decent but when up all the way they are a tad top heavy. The Umbrellas aren't bad. You get 2 of each to try in the light mount. The backdrop is just so so. I used the rest of the system and added other backdrops to it and came out with great results. I think if I use these a lot I may invest in small weights I can add to the bottom of the stands to give them some gravity to add sturdiness to them.

This was my first time buying a backdrop kit, so this is all very new to me. So keeping that in mind, I was pretty happy with this. Everything was pretty sturdy. The backdrop did require an iron and a little elbow grease, but it turned out pretty well. I feel like the lights are so-so. I did have to play around with my photos in Photoshop and brighten some of them up, but I think part of that could be where I need to become more familiar with this setup and lighting placement. I absolutely think it was worth it to buy it, and I am excited to get myself more backdrops and keep taking photos so I can get even better at this.

I bought this for the sole purpose of listing clothing items for sale online and I have not been disappointed. I have ZERO photography background but this was so easy to figure out and get started, I was up and going within 25 minutes of opening it. The one surprising thing was it doesn’t come with assembly instructions. It comes with a small pamphlet showing you drawings of each item included, but now how to assemble it or which lighting umbrella would be good for what uses. Luckily, assembly is easy enough to figure out and a quick online search gave me the answers I wanted in regards to the umbrellas. It also feels decently sturdy as I’ve had to walk across it multiple times and often have shoes on, my 90 lb dog even walks across and has laid down on it (which twisted it up), and it has withheld. I did take the advice of others and use a steamer on it after I opened it. I had already hung it up though so I wasn’t able to steam the bottom, no biggie. I held the steamer right up against the material and sure, little spots got wet here and there, but they dried and no negative effects occurred from steaming without something to protect it. Over all, I absolutely would buy again. Easy to assemble, has everything you need in one package, and looks great as a neutral background!

I just received this set today and after playing around with it for a bit I am very happy with it. The stands and lighting attachments seem fairly strong and durable. All of the umbrellas are just as good as any basic umbrella you can buy anywhere. I was worried about the background being plastic-y and giving off a shine in my photos and I was pleasantly surprised it doesn't. I haven't put in the effort to iron it yet so I can't say how well it will flatten out but so far I'm liking it. The only thing I'm not completely happy about is that everything doesn't fit nicely in the carrying case. Only the background stand will fit, but it's not hard to find a duffel bag or something to carry the rest. Overall, I'm happy with this buy so far. Will update if anything changes.

I have just started my own studio space and was excited when ordering this equipment bundle. The packaging was great and set up was very simple. The bulbs are great and the lighting they produced was perfect for me. I feel this is a great purchase for someone like me just starting out and learning studio lighting. The carry case it comes with is very convenient when on the go to another location outside of the studio. The equipment is light weight and again I'm happy with how easy the stands and backdrop are to assemble without assistance. While this set up will only take me so far and I more than likely will need to upgrade I still feel like it is a good purchase when just starting out and continue to learn and the price is very satisfying with the quality of the equipment. I gave this purchase an overall rating of 5 stars but feel that the bundle could have come with the inclusion of stand weights and 4 backdrop clamps instead of 2 which would have been a little more useful, however this is a great purchase for any photographer starting out.

I love that it is easy to set up and take down. The lighting umbrellas are sufficient. Good value!

Overall, this is a good setup. Easy to assemble. I tried ironing out the creases in the backdrop, but that was going nowhere fast, so I just left it. I find they don't show up in pictures. This has really helped with lighting for indoor pics. It was something I always struggled with and now I can take pretty good shots that will edit and still be clear. My only real complaint would be that the stands for the umbrellas won't fit in the case with the backdrop stands. It would make storage so much easier. I do kind of wish the backdrop was a bit wider. It does limit the scope of what all you can use as a set piece in front of it.

This made me feel like a professional. The lights are so very bright. The set is easy to assemble. The backdrop is not the same size as the stand, its narrower. So I gotta buy a separate backdrop that's 10x10 ft.

Backdrop is not white whatsoever, it’s gray. Seems like it was printed in low quality so it’s pixel-y and the colour is off, it also feels like paper so if you make a crease in it or scratch it, it probably won’t come out. Currently have it under some heavy boards hoping the wrinkles and creases come out. It most certainly isn’t seamless like the ad says. The backdrop stand is fine. It’s very wobbly so not a good idea if you’re shooting kids or pets, my son stepped back close to the backdrop itself and it almost fell down on him. The lights are fine. The light reflectors are actually umbrellas. Light stand is the same as the backdrop stand. Lightbulbs are very bright so that’s a plus. Overall, you’re going to need a professional backdrop if you buy this because the one it comes with does not do the job if you’re shooting professionally. It’s probably more worth your while to buy a quality backdrop stand with black/white/green backdrops or pro backdrops from somewhere not on Amazon and a cheap light stand set separately.
