RazoRockBaby Smooth Double Edge Safety Razor

It was between this razor and the Muhle R41 Open Comb that I was trying to decide on for a closer shave. However, because this seemed like the milder razor, I chose this one, and ,boy, am I glad I did! This razor is curved such that the blade is forced into a steeper angle than others. But the shaving experience is not noticeably unpleasant. Put a sharp, smooth, flexible blade into it, and the razor will reward you with a very smooth shave. You won't have to wince as with an open comb razor. The Razorock is light but sturdy and easy to clean. When these babies become available again, snap one up right away as they go fast.

This shaver extends the guard out farther than most DE razors which narrows the effective shaving angle to only the optimal range. This makes it a more comfortable and safer shave, but this also means that the user has to be more precise in getting the correct angle. For beginners or those with sensitive skin this forces them to use the razor only in the comfort zone. For others this may limit their options and require more attention to getting the blade angle right. This is a personal decisions. The razor is well built as expected for this high price.

when I first used this razor I had some nicks when I used my feather or Parker blades. but because of the bend of the blades I decided to try an Astra because it is very thin and bends better. wow. what a difference! I now can get a BBS shave without shaving against the grain and with very little touch up. very good on sensitive areas. find the right blade for your needs and use very light razor pressure and you'll have your BBS.

I had a RazoRock Baby Smooth and loved the razor; and bought one for my brother. We agreed the Baby Smooth delivered the smoothest and most comfortable DE shaves we'd ever had. The company made a first run before stopping production with no indication if they'd make it again. I regretted selling it. I had stopped DE shaving; but now I'm back to it and have been looking for a Baby Smooth. It's the only DE razor I'm interested in re-owning. RazoRock makes the Baby Smooth in titanium but they sell as quickly as the company manufacturers them.I gather one of the reasons this razor shaves like no other is the steep blade angle. The razor holds a blade at a more acute angle than any other DE razor, closer to the angle we see in cartridge blades; but the Baby Smooth is smoother and I've yet to get ingrown stubble after using this razor.The Baby Smoothy used to sell for up to $300 used on auction sites after the company stopped production. But now that they're back it's time to get one, or two... This time I'll not sell it. I had used Astra Platinum, Nacet, and Gillette Black blades among others; all worked fine. My preference was Astra blades. And excellent performance/price double-edge blade.

I absolutely LOVE this razor! I haven't been getting enjoyable shaves from my Merkur 34C for a while now; and I was looking for something milder and smoother. I happened upon the Baby Smooth while online and did some research. Well it turned out that everyone who used it loved it! I've even seen guys on YouTube using it and they really love it too.It's very light and easy to control. The knurling keeps it safely in the hand even when wet; and it delivers a fantastic shave every time! Also, which is very important for me, with sensitive skin, is the fact that you can go back over the same area several times without getting irritation! It's a fabulous price for such an amazing razor; and I doubt I'll use my Merkur ever again. I may even buy a 2nd one as they seem to sell out pretty fast. I have found that most every brand of blade I own is compatible with it. My fav being the Astra Green SS blades. I would highly recommend this incredible razor! Great work by the guys at RazoRock!!
