Having suffered from super fleas for a year thus worked wonders.

I was scared to use this product because there was a warning on the bottle which said causes skin irritation and and serious skin damage and harmful to aquatic life. It also says that we should wear protective gloves and eye and face protection while using it. When I use any dog shampoo on my dog I never wear gloves so I was a bit scared to open the product. In fact I didn’t use it on my dog properly and I only diluted it to wash his muddy paws after each walk in the shower.

First of all, I love the design of the bottle, a posh pooch indeed. We have an 8ish year old short haired border collie. Last year it was quite late into the year before we had to think about ticks, but Blue has already had a tick this week. I don’t use chemicals on my dog, that is important for all dogs but especially so for herding breeds because of the possibility of a mutant gene (mdr1) that makes some chemical flea and tick medications poisonous to them.Blue isn’t the biggest fan of bath time, but he needs to stay pest free, and he was a bit grubby. Much to his dismay we did bath him. I pre diluted the shampoo in his big plastic just that we keep for him, it smells really nice. Because it was diluted it was easy to pour from the jug over him. It lathered well. We knew he needed a bath but eek, he was dirtier than we thought. He is lovely and clean now and we know there are no beasties on him. We live in the countryside, so we are always around sheep and deer territory making ticks more abundant. My friend’s cat had two ticks last week so I know the feral cats round here will be bringing them to our garden too.Great shampoo all round.

I have a cocker spaniel who loves to run in the open fields round where we live. She also loves to run through muddy puddles!! So we have to bath her a lot more than we most probably should...We always do buy flea/tick shampoo due to living in the countryside. We also use a spot-on flea treatment monthly. However flea shampoo is just as an added precaution. This shampoo is slightly more expensive than our normal brand, but the bottle is also 50ml bigger at 500ml.The scent i got from the bottle was aloe vera, however when i bathed my dog it didn't really leave any lasting perfume. The shampoo foams ok, not the greatest foam, but i think my dog actually preferred this. I followed the instructions and pre-mixed in a jug of warm water.I can't comment on it's flea/tick repellent nature as my dog has not had any fleas/ticks ever... but it's peace of mind more than anything when i personally purchase these type of shampoos.Would i recommend this product - yes, after using the shampoo i am happy with it and would purchase again.I hope that you found my review helpful.
