The Mountains are Calling: 90 Devotions for Peace and Solitude

Just started this on January 1st. I am enjoying it. I love mountains, so this devotional is just right for me. I gave one to a friend for Christmas, and she told me she is enjoying it, too.

My mom saved me in her phone as “the mountains” because we both love our mountain trips together. So when I call it says “the mountains are calling”. For her 60th birthday, I saw this devotional and I thought it was cute and I was hoping the information in it was just as good. Let me say that it did not fail. I read through many of the devotional days and it was soothing the read. The way nature was connected with God was worded beautifully. I would like one for myself one day.

Short and easy to read! Love the prayers at the end of each devotional!

I have several devotionals that I read from frequently, but this one has become my most favorite. And I don’t think it is just because I am such a nature lover! The words on every page of this book are so comforting and reassuring of God’s great love for us through our mountaintop experiences as well as our valleys. I have already purchased extras for gifts. It is my “go to” devotional first thing every morning. Thank you, DAYSPRING!

We really loved this devotional. I bought others like it (the beach is calling, and the campfire is calling) but this one was definitely our favorite.

I try to chose devotionals that speak to me. If you an outdoors person looking for a way to connect with nature and God. This is for you. The book is not dated. You are able to skip around and read what speaks to your heart. Which is what I prefer.

The importance of awe on page 29 explains why I see gardeners simply standing and looking at their gardens. Not working, weeding, picking-just standing/sitting in awe.
