2010 solo debut from Sharon Corr, a member of what was once one of the most famous families in the world. Sharon is a great Pop songwriter, having single-handedly penned the Corrs' massive hit 'So Young' as well as several others. Her album includes the Irish hit single 'It's Not a Dream' and a cover of the Korgis classic 'Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime', as well as a taste of the tradition in the shape of 'Mna NahEireann' ("Woman of Ireland"). A Very Good Mix Of Styles
A very interesting mix of styles makes for a varied and enjoyable listen. There are a couple of instrumentals here including Cooley's Reel; an Irish-sounding tune that features Sharon's superb violin skills. Not surprisingly, violin makes several more appearances on this disc - despite being a guitar, bass, and drums person at heart I find Sharon's violin playing very enjoyable.Other highlights include Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime which is, for this listener, an improvement on the original, It's Not A Dream, So Long Ago, Dream Of You, and Real World.Just when you've got used to a mix of Corrs-style pop and Irish folk music, you're taken by surprise by the country sound of the closing track, Love Me Better. My closing remark is to mention that Sharon is, in my opinion, just as good a singer as Andrea. If you like The Corrs because of Andrea's voice, there's a good chance you'd like Sharon's solo work.

It's Okay.
Thought that thus would be the opportunity for the most talented Corr sister to show what she can do with the fiddle, the voice and some tunes. What we get is an over produced album which could be all sorts of artists look for middle of the road pleasant listening. Maybe two tracks show some essence of the artist but the rest washes over me and one song goes into another without really noticing a changein tempo or emotion.I am now not sure that Sharon is the most talented Corr because there is no sense of real purpose. Disappointing

NICELY DONE EFFORT
I WAS AND STILL ENJOY LISTENING TO MY CD COLLECTION OF THE CORRS AND WAS SURPRISED AT HOW SHARONS ALBUM WAS VERY NICE. IT HAS SOME INSTRUMENTAL TUNES LIKE 'COOLEY'S REEL' WHICH THE CORRS AS A BAND COULD HAVE RELEASED AND SOME LYRICAL SONGS BY SHARON ARE VERY SWEET TO LISTEN TOO.I WASNT KEEN ON BUYING THIS FULL PRICE AT HMV BUT THANKS AGAIN FOR AMAZON IN SELLING THIS AND I HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE DELIVERY EITHER.JUST A SHAME THAT THE CORRS HAVE NOT RELEASED A COMEBACK ALBUM AS I STILL THINK THEY WERE VERY GOOD IN THE DAY!!

familiar sound revisited
I have bought albums that have burnt brightly and died quickly. But Sharon Corrs debut album is one of three parts. Instant gratification with the first 5 tracks, followed by a middle section that grabs you more slowly, and complete satisfaction by the time you can name the tracks without checking the sleeve. I prefer these to the high flyers, and I'm confident I'll be playing this album regularly, well into the second half of the year. A beautifully produced and balanced programme. p g croft

Standout solo album by Sharon Corr
It is not often that a solo album is better than a group effort but Sharon Corr really has achieved it with Dream of You.She opens with a traditional Irish classic Our Wedding Day with its haunting melody & continues with a mix of brilliant covers such asEveryones Got to Learn Sometime & Smalltown Boy & then we come to the masterful mix of Sharon violin combined with the guitar genius of Jeff Beck on MIna Na Heirrann which is so good you have to replay it over & over. The whole album is a brilliant voyage of discovery into the talent of Sharon Corr & cannot be praised high enough. If you are a Corrs Fan then give yourself a treat & please buy this album !
