Nice cordless hammer drill
I already have a good corded Bosch hammer drill, but wanted the convenience of cordless. This beefy unit fit the bill, and hasn't given me any problems so far. Overall it's a nice kit, with case and a variety of starter bits. The only thing that would make it better would be a second battery, as I'm not sure where to find a replacement and I haven't checked to see if other batteries are compatible.

The convenience of being cordless pushes this over to 5 stars.
I have a Berserker corded model that actually is a few dollars cheaper than this Monkey King Bar and provides 6 joules of impact energy as compared to this Monkey bar coming in at 2.2 joules. You can't say enough though about the convenience of cordless usability making it totally portable for the job site.I was kind of surprised that the Monkey King Bar SDS Plus weighs in at 13.2 lbs. and the Berserker comes in at 12 pounds making it slightly lighter, but not enough of a difference to really matter.I was removing an old tile floor in my basement with the Berserker, and it handled the job quite admirably. I had to focus on keeping the angle right so it wouldn't dig into the concrete. This Monkey King is just right for a job like that.It comes with a smart charger, and in the directions, it warns you that you should run the battery through a charge on the smart charger before using it. There are two lights; a red and a green. Red indicating the charger is plugged in, and upon inserting the battery into it, the red stays lit, and the green begins to blink. Once both the red and green stay lit the battery if fully charged. A flashing red light indicates the battery is too hot, and the red and green light flashing alternatively means the battery pack is defective. Mine charged up without any problems. If you have been using the heck out of it, let it cool down some before recharging. This Monkey King Bar is ideal for usage as an impact drill. I have a Milwaukee corded hammer drill, and more than once a long bit got caught in the block, and I was lucky that it did not snap my wrist. I had an experience with that one once where I was using a 12" 3/4" masonry bit, and it caught deep in the block, and I was working alongside to 2x6 supports which caught the handle of the corded Milwaukee drill and the thick drill bit actually was bending due to the torque. If it wasn't for that upright 2 x 6 that the handle jammed up against, it would have been my hand and wrist that would have been twisted. So, having a fully powerful impact drill for making through the block wall drilling, having something that is powerful enough to do the job, but also forgiving enough to know when to quit is just right. From now on this Monkey Bar will be my go-to tool for those purposes. It comes in a nice blown molded case that fits well, and also comes with 3 impact drill bits, and 3 different style chisel bits as well. Be sure if you have bits already that they are the SDS-Plus type bits which are the ones that will fit in this drill. Overall, this is a very substantial tool for everyday drilling and impact hammering. Glad I have it. The battery topped up from the box new into the charger in only about 5 minutes. Highly recommended.

Sturdy And Strong Impact Hammer Drill
The Monkey King Bar SDS PLUS hammer drill was ordered for use around my home and in my garage.I've been slowly upgrading my electrical tools to cordless electric, and I was happy to find a hammer drill that is cordless. This hammer drill has a 20 Volt, 4.0AH li-on battery & charger. When received it was charged. The battery appeared to have a partial charge since it was totally charged in about 1 hour. The tool has a power indicator which lets one know when it is time to charge. This tool also has a brushless motor which for me is a major "plus" in the newer electrical tools. The amount of work energy (joules) seems a little light to me at 2.2. I've seen other hammer drills that are up in the 5 - 7 joule range. However, I did not notice any major deficiency due to this amount. The tool comes with a starter set of chisels and drill bits for concrete, brick, and rock. One of the features that I like about this tool is that is has variable speeds and can be used from 900 BMP up to about 4700 BMP. There are 3 different modes which can be alternated as needed. When tested, I found this to be a powerful tool for a cordless hammer drill. The tool was tested in wood & concrete, and it worked nicely in each.BOTTOM LINE: This is a powerful cordless which has a brushless motor. It has variable speeds, and can be operated from 900 BMP up to about 4700 BMP. When tested in concrete, it did a good job. Though it feels a little heavy at 13.2 pounds, its maneuverability at that weight is OK. Its current price point is below some other hammer drills, and based upon my tests I would order again.

Awesome tool that comes with every thing
UPDATED 6/29/22I used this for drilling 1/2" holes in cement for anchors (sleeve redheads) and it was awesome! The bit was true to size, as I compared it to a Bosch 1/2" masonry. I drilled through 4 week old 4000lb strength concrete (not the quick set, normal) and the bit did not dull at all. The drill effortlessly went through, but just one pointer: When you use the depth guide, make sure the drill bit has been pushed INWARDS, into the drill. I kept checking the depth which was correct, but then I was "not deep enough." What I realized is if you drill a hole, pull the drill out, the drill bit will come out about 1/4-1/2". If you're trying to be precise, then that's obviously throwing you off. I pushed the bit in, re-set the depth gauge, drilled, and I was spot on. Also another tip: I used a straw with a shop vac to get dust at the bottom. I kept seeing I had about 1/4 dust at the bottom of a 5" hole no matter how I hit it with a shop vac, when finally it hit me, "Why not use the straw WITH the shop vac?" So I put the straw a few inches into the hose, used a finger or two to create more suction through the straw, and then put it into the hole. I could watch all the dust coming up the straw and then from then on checking the depth came back "clean" since all the dust was now gone.I will post a longer review later with videos and more information but wanted to get my initial impressions out now. The product has many accessories you would want: masonry bits and a chisel. You can easily choose to drill, hammer, drill hammer and just hammer. I plan to test them all out and see how it performs. The case is really well constructed and organizes the tool with the accessories. It quickly charged and has great power. I honestly think I'll never need to use my corded Makita drill hammer again. It's everything, great price, and great features. I am really happy with it.

Looks like a nice quality drill - can't use because battery won't charge
Was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package and inspected the drill. Everything about it looks like a quality item. The plastic is more of a rubberized type that is found on name brands like Makita or Bosch. Unfortunately, I am unable to use the drill because the battery will not charge. Not sure if it is the charger or the battery but the light on the charger turns green and red initially but changes to solid red after attempting to charge.

Great, full featured hammer/rotary drill...
The media could not be loaded. I got this specifically to help remove old tile that I found underneath the carpet in a room that I had decided to reno. For that task I've found it both capable and indispensable.I had planned to remove all the tile by hand (with prybar and hammer) but quickly found out that not all of the tiles were glued down as lightly as the first few I tried. It didn't take me long to run into tiles that just wouldn't lift up and the job became very slow and tedious. After watching some videos of people using similar tools to do the same job, I decided to invest in one myself and after evaluating my options, settled on this one. There were other corded models that I considered since I wasn't sure how much I'd actually use a hammer drill after this project, but decided that not having to deal with cord wrangling (etc...) was worth paying a little more for. I can honestly say I've got no regrets and feel I made the right choice. The drill arrived well packaged in its case, which is made of the standard, rugged, tool case plastic, with metal clips to keep it securely closed while carrying. In the case you'll find the tool, instruction manual, battery, charger, handle, and multiple SDS plus style bits (SDS and SDS plus are the connection type with "plus" being the newer version), including a narrow chisel bit. I started off trying to use this bit but found it was little help as it would just either get stuck on the tile or slide over it.So I ended up getting a wider, angled chisel bit from the same company and this made all the difference. After pairing the tool and bit, and applying a suitable amount of grease (I used the Makita grease. Just make sure it's plastic safe since even though the bit and the part of the drill it locks into are metal, the outer cowling of the chuck is [durable] plastic) things got a whole lot easier.Although still requiring more effort than the videos might've made it seem, it sped things up incredibly and was more than powerful enough to handle even the most stuck on tiles. It also cut through nails, and the battery lasted longer than I ever did so I've yet to have it die while I'm using it. It also charges quite quickly which is good because you only get the one battery and I'm not sure where or even if you can buy another one. Still, it's a 20 volt, 4 amp hr battery and you can get an illuminated visual indication of its charge level with a push of a button. The thing that really justifies the expense and makes this a worthwhile purchase for me is the ability to use this as a regular drill as well. By purchasing a cheap adapter with an SDS plus connection on one end and a regular drill chuck on the other, and switching the selector to "drill/rotary only" mode (*very important, adapters are not made for modes that use the hammer function and will be destroyed if used that way), I can use it as a regular cordless drill. Granted it's probably only good for small jobs and you have to be careful with controlling the speed with just your finger pressure on the trigger, but once you get used to starting/going slow it's not really a problem and I haven't used my old corded drill since I got this one.

Works good
I bought this for getting agate seams out of the host rock. So far it's worked good. Only down side is not being able to order additional batteries. For that reason alone I docked one star.
