Acceptable for a one time use.
I use the 4 inch to insert pistons on a V8. By the 8th piston, the locking mechanism no longer locked. It would not stay tight/locked. Had to use the bigger one to finish. The ring tool wasn't to good. Out of 16 rings i had to use woth the tool about half of them would slide off before I got them to the ring groove.

Don't be deceived by the three "different" sizes.
I used this on an LS engine and it was an epic fail. Once I ruined one ring (I needed to buy another set anyway) I tried all three upside down and right side up. Literally ruined all six bottom rings. These are best sure for a caterpillar or large Cummins, In my opinion...
