The Man Who Died Twice: A Thursday Murder Club Mystery

Fun read
The writing style is quite enjoyable with the characters thinking about the heavy aspects of a murder mystery and suddenly their thoughts shift to amusing personal conundrums. Ultimately the wisdom imparted comes from these personal side distractions rather than the cleverness of the story’s “heroes.” So it’s a fun, entertaining, and enjoyable read.

A fitting sequel
Builds upon the first one quite nicely. Looking forward to seeing if the third installment can keep up the pace.

Another winner
I loved this book, especially having read the first one and therefore gotten used to the style. The crime here is intriguing and the way the author works us through it is entertaining. It’s always got you thinking. I figured out some of the elements correctly and was off on others. All the clues were here. The four main characters were as entertaining as usual though Ibrihim’s role in this one was more emotional. It served an important purpose though and I love how Donna was tied into it. I really love Bogdan’s new place amongst the group and Stephen has more of a part which was nice. And Ron’s grandson Kendrick was wonderful. Best of all I like the way, in the end, everyone gets what they deserve in some way, shape, or form…for good or bad. Though I wish there’d been a bit more specifics on what happened to the villain of the piece.I truly hope these books continue on for quite a while. The mysteries are wonderful, and characters are fun, and there is great humor. But most of all I like the message about not underestimating people based on pre-conceived notions and not taking people or situations at face value.

A Fun Read
The four senior sleuths solve another murder mystery. There are lots of twists and turns and a very surprising ending.

Entertaining characters
I enjoyed this second book in the Thursday Murder Club series. It was great to see Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibraham proving that old people are often underestimated. This time we meet some of Elizabeth's old colleagues, which was interesting. And we see Ibrahim struggling with PTSD, a plot thread that was insightfully done. I was probably less charmed by this book than the first one just because it was less surprising, given that it was a sequel. But it was well worth reading.

Just the sort of book you need to relax, smile along with and enjoy the crazy ride. Who says seniors don’t know how to have fun! It gives us all hope :)

木曜日殺人クラブの二作目、ますます面白くなってきた。
展開がスピーディーで意表をつかれ、読み始めたら止まらない。イギリスらしいユーモアたっぷりの老人たちのやり取りも大好きです。

Better than the first of the series
This one works much better than the first one in this series. Maybe because the characters are already all set.
