Hair Chalks - Temporary Color

I have colored my hair for years and lately, my daughter has asked about adding fun pops of color to her hair. Yes, as a mom, I've been hesitant to let her add any color to her hair. I always worry about damaging her hair or the color never completely going away. She finally wore me down and I ordered this fun GirlZone Hair Chalk Set for her. Of course, I tried it on my hair first. I was quite pleased with the ease of applying the hair chalk (no mess!), the vibrancy of colors (plus the great color selection!), and most of all, how well it washed out/faded. Even with my color damaged hair, I had no trouble removing the hair chalk color. My daughter really enjoyed this set because it gave her the chance to experiment with fun hair color and she could even apply it herself! Definitely a great set for younger girls who want to express themselves with fun hair colors and for moms who don't want anything damaging their daughter's hair.

We LOVE this product! The results are beautiful!! We’ve done my daughter’s hair several times—mermaid colors, green stripes for St Pattys, and rainbow are our favorites so far. The sticks are easy to use, but I’ve found that putting a hard surface under each strand of hair (I used a tissue box last time) and coloring the top AND bottom of each strand is most efficient for color saturation. I section her hair and work from the bottom to the top, one 1” stand at a time. And while it may feel like you’re coloring the hair for a long time this way, the stick doesn’t seem to go down much (so they’ll last for a very long time and many many uses!). However if you’re just highlighting (PIC #1) you could be done in less than 5min. The only downside to this product is definitely the texture. If you’re saturating the hair in color like in our last two photos it leaves the hair pretty “greasy” looking at first (PIC #2) and “gritty” feeling!! I’ve found that very (!!) gently brushing it when we’re done, and several times throughout the day, really helps with the look and feel of it (PIC #3). Hope this helps!! Oh and yes, it does wash right out!! We haven’t had it stain her blonde hair or bedding, and we’ll typically leave the color in for about 2 days until her next bath.

I LOVE this product and have recommended it to about everyone who will listen. On non-color treated hair, without heat sealing, the hair chalk washed out in one wash with one normal shampoo-but did begin to run onto the neck and ears with some sweating. On non-color treated hair, WITH heat (blow drying, not straightener), the hair chalk took 3 washes (2 days) with normal shampoo. On color treated blonde hair, WITH heat, these bad boys were not too easy to remove. The blue, pink, green, and purple remained for multiple washes, but did get softer after every wash. These four colors were used to create "Mermaid Hair" and it looked FANTASTIC. Blondes: Half of the set is PERFECT for you, and you can still use the others for a less dramatic look. The bright glitter colors are AMAZING. The colors really pop (especially the bright glitter blue and the pink). The ones that I'm describing as not being "perfect" are the silver glitter, yellow, and the light pink. The silver does not show up all too well, the yellow is..well yellow, and the light pink shows up but was not as dramatic as my very blonde daughter would have liked. Brunettes: Some of the set is PERFECT for you, and you can try the other colors but expect less dramatic/bright colors. The lighter and pastel colors really show up, but the bright glitter colors don't really pop like they do on blonde hair. Lastly, and more importantly, these did NOT irritate my daughter's or my VERY sensitive skin.

An okay little hair chalk set. It makes your hair sticky and hard to brush. It doesn’t dry. It stains your hands and clothes. I don’t like the feeling of my hair after using it. It also breaks easily. Takes forever to cover half of my hair. Up side is that it has a lot of vibrant colors. It would’ve been better if this was in a hair brush form applicator.

After searching for a good hair chalk for my daughters 6th birthday party to entertain twelve little girls, I’m glad I found this one! Being a former hairdresser myself I was pretty picky in finding hair chalk that really works and is not loaded full of chemicals and junk. I think Girlzone’s moto is excellent! Their products are created by moms who feel the same way I do. The colors are perfect! The quality of the hair chalk is very good. They have the consistency of crayons which is very clever having never used them before. Will give another review after party to give my feedback on how the chalk worked on all the girls hair types. I’m glad I found a company who wants to make great safe products for kids. It was refreshing to read about the foundation and the moto of this company. I’m sick of buying junk made in China with a funny smell emanating. The market is so saturated with these kinds of things. Will defiantly buy from Kidzone again! Looks like they have a whole product line that I am enthusiastically going to try with my kids!

Got this for my daughter on her 9th birthday. Every day she puts different colors in her hair. It washes out easily. I made her wash it out before going to bed so it wouldn't get on the pillow or on the furniture. We have forgotten a few times, but I haven't found any on the bed or couch or other surfaces so far. When she started to run out of some colors, my daughter asked me to buy more. She loves this. I like that it is less mess or smelly than the spray on colors. It doesn't cover the hair as completely as some of the sprays, but it does look cool and makes almost no mess.

The pigment in these is awesome. It even tells you the best methods to use when applying on different hair colours.

Es cómodo por el formato, que es como un rotulador. Se puede ir sacando conforme se gasta como un pintalabios. Pinta sobre castaño, pues se lo regalé a mi sobrina y aunque lógicamente se ve más en rubio, si que se veía el color. Se va con agua tanto en manos como en pelo, así que para niños es ideal poruqe con un lavado se quita.

Wenn man sich an die Anleitung hält, dann klappt das Auftragen richtig gut. Steht alles dabei, was man beachten muss. Die Farben sehen schön kräftig aus (wenn man das möchte, sonst weniger auftragen). Die Farben halten und wenn sie trocken sind, färben sie auch nicht ab. Beim Haare waschen geht die Farbe gut raus - von blau hat man aber auch mänach der Wäsche noch was, was ich aber nicht schlimm finde.

Ganska svårt att få färgen att fästa på håret. Akta kuddar och andra textilier då det färgar av sig.
