Great product
Works really well. Tames my beard. Allows me to style it and the beard looks natural.

My first experience with a "beard balm," and I have two minds about it.
I've been growing short beards for decades, sometimes trimming them off, occasionally shaving clean, and so on. I've never let my beard get very long, however, as this inevitably becomes itchy and scratchy at a certain point. My perspective on personal grooming... hair, beard, skin, whatever... is that I don't want to have to pay a whole lot of attention to it, but still want to be presentable and comfortable. This is probably a pretty common perspective for most men, I think. As I get older, and the hair "up top" thins out, I've been more inclined to let the beard grow longer, though. I haven't yet gone "full Santa Clause," and don't really plan to ever go "full Z-Z-Top," but letting it grow out a bit more is starting to gain more appeal. So, I saw this on my "Vine" reviewable items list, and decided to give it a shot.I've used it for about a week and a half, so far. I started using it two weeks into my most recent growth cycle... that is, having shaved clean a mere two weeks prior to starting to use it.And I'm, as my title states, of two minds.First off, I have noticed that my whiskers are notably softer and more pliant, but not "floppy." In other words, they seem more controllable. I'll only be able to say for certain as time goes on, and my beard grows in, however. But so far, it seems like it's doing the job it purports to do, and doing it reasonable well.I haven't noticed any skin irritation, or pimples, or the like... something I did experience with a "beard oil" I tried before. (I suspect that might be due to my sensitivity to certain commonly used "fragrance" additives... in particular, I'm strongly allergic to roses, and thus to rose oil, the most common generically-used "fragrance" you'll find)This stuff may have a tiny amount of rose oil in it as well... but it's not the most significant element of fragrance present, as far as I can tell. But it DOES have a fairly noticeable odor... and that's what my "other mind" is concerned by, and why I'm knocking a star off my review. It reminds me, frankly, of patchouli oil, though the overall odor is not exactly like straight patchouli oil, certainly. This is a scent I'm not personally especially crazy about, though I certainly have no allergic response to it... it's very mildly annoying to me, but not a source of "discomfort," in other words. No one around me seems to notice it, apart from my wife and my pets... the fact that it's right below my nose is certainly why it's so obvious to me. But I'd really prefer an entirely "unscented" version to one with even a mild "perfuming," as this one seems to have. The sense of smell is a very, very subjective thing. The scents I like might be objectionable to you, and the scents you like might not be MY favorites. So, I can only suggest that you try this out and see how you feel about the scent. It's not likely that I'll buy this exact compound in the future, despite it being apparently quite good as a beard-care compound, over the scent. But don't let that dissuade you. You might LOVE the scent (as other reviewers no doubt will point out that they do!)

Good balm, sketchy container.
After cleanly shaving my face ever since I became of age to need to do so, I let my beard grow out a few months ago and have liked my new look. So I've been trying a variety of products for beard care.I've used one other type of balm beside this one, and both have features I like. The other balm I've used has a slight scent that I like, and makes my beard really, really smooth. However, the other balm is a thick, dry paste so it's a bit difficult to work with.By comparison, this balm is a cream, so it's not scented (at least to me), but it's super easy to work into my beard and doesn't require much at all. This balm not only smooths my beard but makes the hair more silky. So, I use both depending on what I'm doing. For days when I'm just going to work or staying home (which is very often) I use this balm since it's easier and faster to work in. For the few times I go out, I use the other balm.Seeing as I'm using this more though, I'd probably choose this balm over the other though. Moving on to the second comment in my review title, the container of this balm gave me a mild scare when I received it.Whoever packed this tossed it into a padded envelope and sent it off. The lid of the container loosely screws on, and the container has a foil seal on it from the manufacturer. This seal prevents the lid from being tightly screwed on though. So when I received this balm, I saw the lid was nearly off the container and thought the lid had broken somehow and fearfully looked inside the envelope, expecting to see a mess. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the seal had held. Once I removed the seal, the container lid screwed down tightly. So, no issues but it did give me a scare. Just something to keep in mind if someone decides to try this balm. Again, I'd order this again if I needed more.

Husband loves it
My husband really seems to enjoy the texture, feel and scent of this bears balm. He likes to try a bunch of different products and so I picked this up for him to try.

An Awesome Creamier "Non-Traditional" Balm
This is more lotion-like than the traditional balms I'm used to. Definitely creamy, no scraping out a little with your thumbnail with this stuff. But somehow, it's still tacky and holds great.First off, I was a bit thrown by the tin, usually the small cover unscrews. This has an "upside down" design where the lid is the whole size of the can. Not a bad thing, just more of an observation.Because this is more of a lotion or cream consistency, I initially used this at night with some beard oil. But I quickly realized that the cream is still tacky and holds quite well. I like to use a traditional balm during the day, but this non-traditional balm works awesome. I am starting to like this creamy, tacky, balm verses the traditional waxy type.Overall, a really nice product. Just be aware that its creamier than a traditional balm, but it'll hold like a traditional balm. It smells great and works great on my beard, but it's a bit pricier than some balms this size. That's the only reason I took a star away. Awesome beard balm, you have to give it a try for yourself.
