Out of Sunday boredom I was reading reviews on this fountain when I was reordering filters for it and thought I should add my two cents worth.I have been using this fountain for about 2.5 years now and I do truly love it. Is it perfect? No, but pretty darn close. The first review I saw was very negative. Bet they are real fun at a party. There is a small and limited amount of water that will seep around the inside divider but that is unavoidable since the divider is made removable for cleaning. One could use food grade silicone to prevent those few drops of getting through or just look at the bigger picture and realize that the water in the entire bowl is cycled so many times per hour that the wee bit that gets though surely ends up being filtered next round. I have watched my dog throw up and eat it immediately after so I am positive he is not upset about the few molecules that may escape filtration.I read about others who have had pump issues. In almost three years I have used two pumps. The pump has a 3 year warranty. The company will replace it and they are only $14 to replace if you purchased one yourself. Now...for a little unit that runs 24/7 nonstop I think it has served well if it makes it 18 months before pooping out. The pump hangs under the lid vs sitting on the bottom which is good but you do need to make sure you keep the water level up and the pump covered or it will burn out. Not rocket science there folks and am going to go out on a limb and say those with pumps problems either never cleaned it or let the water level get too low.My question for those who were bashing the filter for getting “slimy” .....did ya think about taking it out every couple of days and rinsing it under the faucet sprayer? How long did you leave it in there or think it was going to last? I remove mine twice a week and rinse and replace and I replace it monthly.For those who have messy drinkers....um, what did you do BEFORE? I have one such messy drinker and the old water bowl sat on a mat which was placed on a boot tray to catch his sloppiness. Remove traditional dish and place new fountain on mat in boot tray in place of old bowl. Clean water now but he is no less tidy in his water chugging. I really was silly in expecting that this company would preform a miracle and he would no longer be messy because of his new bowl. 🙄I did not care for the dental sticks but I do use a dental additive straight to the water. I am sure that some of it gets filtered out and absorbed by the charcoal filter but I add fresh water with additive once to twice daily so they are still getting some teeth wash and minty breath.As to the ease and cleaning of this unit: I add water from the top daily and once a week I tear the whole thing apart in the sink and wash it with soapy water (just rinse the filter with clean water...no soap). Remove and disassemble the pump and clean well. Put it all back together. 5 min from start to finish.As for cons: I wish the company would improve the design in the way the water silencers attach. More often than not mine end up floating in the holding tank but that is nothing that warrants a bad review. It would also be a bonus if they made the bottom half of the dish more clear or added a clear water level viewing panel. It is hard to tell the water level at times. I usually shine my phone flashlight on the plastic to see the water line better. I always add water from the top as there is, as has been mentioned, a skill level involved in removing the upper lid without spilling water. And last but not least....designer colors please!! The lime green really clashes with my red stand mixer and overall kitchen color theme but I think the critters quite fancy it.For anyone who is shying away from this product I urge you to reconsider. Most poor reviews are made by people who are just plain negative nincompoop Nancy’s. This is a solid product and it has served me well and I recommend it to anyone.For the record: I am a consumer...not paid by the company for this review. I have 4 pets that all use this fountain. A 100# American Bulldog who drools and slops water everywhere. A 10# picky Shih Tsu who can reach it just fine even with a 6-7” bowl height and 2 cats who have no issues sharing the bowl with their canine brothers.I do hope this review was helpful to anyone looking for a quality fountain dish for their furry friends.

After owning many different drinking fountains for 2 Springer Spaniels this is by far their favorite and mine! They like the dental inserts which I was worried about and they are drinking more.Other fountains I could never tell how full they were, but this one being see through that isn't a problem now. It also holds a lot of water and with my 2 dogs I only have to fill it once every day or other day. The pump is also one of the more quiet ones I've ever heard and seems to be better made or heavier duty than others and while it is still pretty new I can't say yet how long it will last, but by the sound and sturdyness of it I'm not worried about at all. Just going to stay on top of cleaning it. The directions say that the dental tabs should be inserted every 3 to 4 days. They are cheap enough, but would be nice if they lasted at least a full week, but the thought of knowing their teeth and gums are at least getting some protection is nice. My dogs don't have bad breath so I can't comment on that. The power cord is pretty long so reaching most outlets shouldn't be an issue.It's a great fountain and would very highly recommend it to anyone!!UPDATE 10/10/2017: I just wanted to update this review now that I've had more time with it. One of my dogs is a big slobber mouth and that seems to effect how long the filters last. Mine only last up to 2 weeks (if I'm lucky) at the most before the filter is so slimed up I have to replace it. Was hoping to get at least 3 to 4 weeks out of it like my old fountain, so not sure if these filters are better or not. They are rather thick and slim seems so coat it rather quickly. Still is the best fountain I've tired so far!UPDATE 11/16/2017: I have to change my review now after 2 months with this fountain. While the pump is much better than most others out there, the filtration design is severely flawed! I noticed this the last few times I cleaned it and then added filtered water to this fountain! The divider in the middle of it doesn't filter a darn thing! NOTHING! I was wondering how so much derby was being caught by the little plastic piece that goes on right before the pump. I watched as I was filling it and saw as the water went right into the next compartment completely bypassing the main filter!! Yes that's right, the filter that is supposed to be the line of defense against most anything in the water isn't doing anything as the water goes directly through under and around the sides of the divider. At this point I realized that this is absolutely pointless and flawed system and I'm going back to my Dogit fountain. At least that actually filters the water!!! I would rather put up with a worse pump and replace it every year or twice a year than not have the water filtered at all! Since that is the point of these fountains to begin with. I so wanted to like this one too as it does have the better pump and can see how much water is in it, but no. Having fresh water is more important to me for my fur babies.

Update: Changing my previous 4 star rating to 1 star. This one is a dud. I'm on my third replacement and the pump pretty much stops after 3 days on average. There is no dirt. The pump is pretty clean. This product needs to be taken off the shelves and the pump design re-examined.Previous Review:I got my order promptly but after 24 hours, the pump just quit on me. Contacted Amazon and within 15 minutes, got a response that a replacement was on the way, expedited mail no less. Great service recovery, Amazon! Received the replacement the next day. Set up this baby in 2 minutes and its been working fine for 3 days so far. Fingers crossed. Love the way it looks (color and shape) and works. Have 3 thirsty huskies and top up the water daily but that's fine with me. Easy to clean material and set up. I notice the huskies are drinking more from the fountain than from their old bowls so that's great. The first few days there was quite a bit of splashing around the fountain from the huskies drinking so a towel is necessary around it. But splashing seems to have decreased dramatically after 2 days so maybe the huskies have figured out how to be neat lol. The filter does a good job of filtering the doggie saliva so that the returned water is fresh always. I wash the top lid daily expecting to find a lot of slime but it's been surprisingly clean. Two thumbs up for this fountain. Am giving it 4 stars to encourage seller to make a more reliable pump but otherwise would have given it 5 stars.

An sich ist der Trinkbrunnen super,... wenn er funktioniert. Habe jetzt schon innerhalb von nicht mal zwei Jahren den 4. und jetzt ist beim 4. Brunnen auch wieder die Pumpe kaputt. Ich habe zwei kniehohe Hunde und sie trinken sehr gerne aus dem Brunnen und nicht so gerne aus einem Napf. Ich muss mir jetzt allerdings eine andere Lösung einfallen lassen, da mir der Trinkbrunnen zu teuer ist wenn ich ihn nochmal kaufe für einen Gebrauch von wenigen Monaten.

Eigentlich fand ich den Brunneb toll. Die Hunde haben ohn geliebt und auch meine alte Seniorhündin hat deutlich mehr getrunke. Auch das Fassungsvermögen war super. ABER: Nach nur 2 Monaten war die Pumpe defekt. Trotz regelmässiger Reinigung und natürlich Nutzung des Filters.Ich denke für siesen Preis hätte man auch eine ordentliche Pumpe erwarten können.

Groß genug für 2 DKK, aber der Filter ist schnell voll, leise, sparsam, leider die Pumpe ist schon kaputt :(. Muss zurück schicken, aber ich möchte es wieder haben, vielleicht halt länger.
