With this part saved myself $300 by doing the install myself. Plus, kept the wife off of my back by fixing the water heater. She thinks I used the money saved on her for our anniversary. NOPE! Used that $300 on myself. I’m the one that did the work. All she did was complain that there wasn’t any hot water. She contributed nothing to this.

Came in a small box with wires and tubes wound in ~2” coil. Despite being careful, the thermocouple line cracked at the sensor while trying to shift the brackets to match the burner attachment screws holes. After an acute case of Tourette’s, I installed it anyway and somehow it still worked, but will order another one to have on hand.

It was excellent and it arrived quickly.

AO Smith FCV-40-100 38 gal water heater. Pilot light kept going out after some period of time. Checked the thermocouple, & tried cleaning the pilot gas tube, but no luck. This part fit, and works. No problems since. Pretty easy to install with a couple of wrenches. Yay.

This is a direct replacement for the pilot assembly on my ten year old GS model State water heater. This comes with a rubber grommet that fits the OEM door. The gas tube and copper wire for the thermocouple are both long so you will have plenty of length to make the connections. Quality control is an issue. I purchased two assemblies and only one worked out of the box. I ordered and installed the replacement and it's working great. For that inconvenience I will give this product four stars.
