This black cotton velvet fabric is awesome and it is very plush. It says not to wash it, only dry clean, but I went and tested a small piece and it held up well in the wash, so I washed 3 yards of fabric. It is 100 percent cotton and shrank a bit, but that is what I needed to do before I cut it up for a garment, since I was making a costume for another and didn't know if they would throw it into the washing machine and I didn't want it to shrink after I had made it.
