Pricey, but worth it for convenience
I've been a fan of ubuntu for years, however my system had recently crashed during an update, which forced me to go back to 14 and then update again - which rendered it useless in a update and crash cycle. I couldn't even create a new boot disk, so I was thrilled to see this on a flash drive.A few tips: When all else fails, READ the directions. I thought I was pretty smart and had updated my boot order to make the USB first, but it still wouldn't work. After a number of fruitless tries, I realized that the directions referenced "legacy boot". On my Acer laptop, that's in a different section than the boot order. Once I changed the legacy setting, it booted to the flash drive.Second, once in the flash menu, it wouldn't let me move to the correct selection. IDK why that was, but I rebooted multiple times until it would finally let me pic the correct item.Third, during the first attempt, I had selected to update while installing. That caused it to hang so I had to start over. I didn't update during the second attempt and it worked perfectly. Once installed, it was simple to then update. This flash saved my laptop as I was ready to throw it through a window.

the cost of this product and 2 days not to mention the gas to and from best buy.
Well, I guess this was half my fault. I expected a booting drive that I could just plug and let it install the os in my comp. it all went well up until I accepted the HD split then It just corrupted the whole thing and made the hd INOP. thinking that I bricked the HD I purchased a new one only to repeat the same thing. In short the usb at least the one I receive was corrupted in a very nasty way . It cost me 3 hard-drives, the cost of this product and 2 days not to mention the gas to and from best buy.

Works about half the time, Failed repeatedly to reformat and install on a Dell with old Win 8. I had to burn an iso disk from another machine

I had ordered a USB drive to make installs easier. Only one problem: the thumb drive was so flimsy it actually broke off when trying to extract it, so I had to just get an Ubuntu distribution online and put it on DVD-R to administer it to save time.

Not So Good
Did not work! Froze up my computer. NOT a very good system. No instructions. No help. Waste of time and money. Linux has been out for years. No reason to operate this poorly. Save your money!
