Apart from many typographical errors, poor syntax, and indifferent illustrations, there's very liitle on current radio control systems, and poor coverage of modern adhesives, such as methacrylates, polyurethanes, and other high strength multi-purpose structural products. I'm a beginner and it seems that many kits don't include information on optimum motor selection, prop speed, and servo power requirements: it would have been helpfull if the book gaves some real examples. (I accept that technology develops rapidly, so the kit manufacturers' recommendations would soon be out of date, but I bought the book expecting more because it's a very recent publication.) This book could have been so much better if the publishers had bothered to read it before printing it.References to pictures in the wrong places, poor sentence construction, the wrong words printed ( bit like not checking your text messages as you type them and letting the predictive text decide what it says!).To finish the overall untidy impression of the book the back cover delaminated within the first few hours of careful reading when a clear plastic film covering started to peel away of its own accord .I was going to buy the other model boat book by Tim Gorman but if this amateurish production is anything to go by I will be giving it a miss.

Does it succeed in telling and guiding you, most certainly it does, and simply for this reason its gets its 5 stars. Notable omissions for a book printed in the 21st century; [B]no[B/] websites listed at all, merely lots of addresses one can either google or write to using snail mail. Another jarring point; the typos, was it ever proof read? Doubtful. Also a number of sentences simply do not make sense. So in summary, a good book that will assist you, even if you have no, some, or even considerable experience, for this 5 stars. The standard of English is average, and very poor in places, not helped by the aforementioned typos and lax syntax.

Very Good Informative Book

Not a very good book on the subject
