You couldn't use it hands-free with a tube or straw. It automatically seals every time you release it. But it's wonderful for having in a fanny pack sideways because it never leaks and the beverage truly stays as cold and as hot as they claim. I love mine!!!

Hello, Jenifer! There is no straw or spout. And this product is not recommended for children. Here are the warnings of the manufacturer. A WARNING "Hot contents can create internal pressure, resulting in hot steam ejection. Always press the mug button upright, always off face, to properly reset pressure before use. Careful. The drink you are about to enjoy can be very hot. For best results Always use caution. Keep out of the reach of children when filling with hot liquids. Before drinking, make sure that the cap is properly screwed to the body and fully screwed. When filling with boiling liquid, cool down with the cover off for at least 3 minutes before attaching the cover.
