Great for camping in Zion
Anyone who has ever visited Zion knows how much emphasis the park places on reducing light pollution, as it's an international dark sky park. (Well, you would think anyone who visits Zion knows that, but judging from my recent visit I would argue that's actually a very small percentage. I digress.) Due to this fact, Zion recommends visitors bring red LED flashlights for nighttime use, to protect your night vision and prevent others from having their night views interrupted. In researching my different options, I came across the WAYLLSHINE High Power Red LED Flashlight.I found this flashlight to be a great tool - it's bright, only takes one AA battery, and is well-built. While others have argued that it's too bright, I found it to be perfect for walking around Zion at night. I prefer hand flashlights over headlights since you can control the beam a bit easier, and as long as you're not waving the flashlight all around it works to illuminate without overwhelming your surroundings. I also appreciate that it only has the red LED, so I could turn it on and off without having to worry about switching.I would highly recommend this flashlight, especially if you're going to be in an environment where night vision is important. Enjoy the stars while you can everyone!

Bright, Compact & Camping-Ready: Perfect for Star Parties
I picked up this little red LED flashlight for camping and astronomy—and for such a compact tool, it punches way above its weight. The red light preserves night vision, so when I’m tuning my telescope or walking to the back of the campsite, I stay under the celestial glow without ruining my dark-adapted eyes. It’s rugged and solid—dropped it a few times into dirt and gravel, and it’s still going strong. With a beam that reaches around 150 yd/200 lumens, it’s great for illuminating charts, gear, or even signaling in the wilderness.Used it at multiple star parties: no glare, no complaints—just red glow guiding you under the Milky Way. Super strong in a tiny package that’s earned regular space in my gear pouch. Highly recommend for campers, amateur astronomers, and anyone who wants practical night lighting without the white-light blot-outs.

Very bright, good value
I got this light for night time illumination without the eye strain caused by bright white lights. Running off a single AA battery it is quite bright, a bit more than I expected. The "zoom" control to adjust between wide and narrow beam works well enough, although I would probably just use the wide setting most of the time. Note that the LED element is square, with a fisheye-style round front element, so at the wide setting you get a round beam but at the narrow setting you get a square beam. Not a problem, just an interesting quirk of the design. The metal construction (including pocket clip) feels very solid, much better than than the price would suggest. My only complain with this light is that it is a bit brighter than I would like for some applications. If you need a light to find your way around the house at night without waking up family, this will likely be just fine. But for those who want a very dim light (for very sensitive eyes, or astrophotography), or a light with brightness adjustment (which I already knew wasn't a feature), this is not the best choice.Regardless, I am satisfied and will definitely get some good use out of it. The higher end lights with adjustable brightness or other features cost a lot more (and don't have the best reputation for durability), so I would call this a good value for sure.

🔒 [CLASSIFIED] MISSION REPORT: REDLIGHT OPS
🔒 [CLASSIFIED] MISSION REPORT: REDLIGHT OPSCodename: NightEyeIssued Equipment: High Power One Mode Red LED FlashlightStatus: Operational — and dangerously awesome.Mission Summary:Deployed for astronomy and night observation. Performance exceeded all tactical expectations. The beam is precise, covert, and preserves night vision — crucial for recon under the cover of darkness. Build quality? Feels like it could survive a drop from low orbit (though command advises against testing this).Field Uses Logged:• Stargazing without detection by enemy photons 🌌• Wildlife observation without spooking the targets 🦉• Midnight fridge raids undetected by domestic patrol units 👀Recommendation:All operatives should be issued one immediately. Five-star rating confirmed. May cause feelings of invincibility and an uncontrollable urge to say “Copy that” into thin air.End of Report

Ease of use, quality materials, very bright adjustable red light
The media could not be loaded. This light is compact, made of metal with a rubber on/ off button, and has an adjustable feature to focus the light. Works nicely.

Works as advertised for overnight camping
Bought these for camping overnight at a dark skies park. More than threw enough light for me to see everything I needed. I’ve taken them on a few trips so far after and it’s been reliable, at the very least nothing has ever failed on me. Can’t speak to the limit of the charge or expected battery life, but I can tell you I’ve never had one die on me, and it’s nice that their batteries that are replaceable and not built-in USB-C charged or anything. Different modes and sliding focus work advertised. Compact design meant it easily into a pocket or multiple into my backpack. I probably should’ve thought more about why I would buy four of them, but they’re cheap enough. I gave a few to friends.

Perfect for My Daughter’s Snail Adventures!
I bought this red flashlight for my daughter so she could safely observe her snails at night, and it’s been perfect! The red light is bright without being harsh, so it doesn’t harm them. It’s lightweight, easy for her to use, and the beam reaches surprisingly far for such a small flashlight. Great quality for the price, definitely a cool tool for little nature explorers!

Too bright
It’s marketed to keep your night vision but it’s far too bright for that. Still, the red light is better than white light from any other flashlight, but not by much.
