Learn how Trump is making America great again — and why government and media elites attack his vision — in this "inspiring and informative" book from one of his key political advisors (Sean Hannity). Donald Trump is unlike any president we've ever had. The only person ever elected to be commander in chief who has not first held public office or served as a general in the military, Trump's principles grow out of five decades of business and celebrity success — not politics. The president owes his position to the people who believed in him as a candidate, not to the left-wing government and media who have expressed contempt for him since his first day on the campaign trail. Trump has enacted policies and set goals that send our country in a bold new direction — one that is "unreasonable" to Washington elites but sensible to millions of Americans outside the Beltway. With Understanding Trump , Newt Gingrich provides unique insight into how the president's past experiences have helped to shape his life and style of governing, including a thorough analysis of how President Trump thinks and makes decisions, as well as his philosophy, doctrine, and forward-thinking political agenda. Discover Trump-style solutions for national security, education, health care, economic growth, government reform, and other important topics. In this eye-opening book, Gingrich also investigates and exposes the forces in the Washington establishment, media, and bureaucracy that oppose the president at every turn. Finally, Understanding Trump explains the president's actions so far and lays out a vision for what Americans can do to help make President Trump's agenda a success. With your help, President Trump will be able to overcome corrupt interests in Washington and fulfill his promise to make America great again. Review: Hands-on, hard-driving business man, getting job done ahead of schedule, and under budget. - Five Star Book Review of Newt Gingrich's "Understanding Trump" Submitted by Frank T. Hayes, [email protected], 05/15/18 I applaud Newt Gingrich for a personal account of President Donald J. Trump, a hands-on hard-driving business man accustomed to completing a job ahead of schedule and under budget, and now drawing on those principles to "Make America Great Again." Newt has been insightful, articulate, the curator rallying Americans to challenge fate, and set the course of history on vectors charted by our Founding Fathers. Newt has been bold and critical, everything at stake, revealing, no-holds-barred, lobbyists at the behest of foreign interests fighting for watered-down U.S. policy on foreign trade, and advocating Globalism, a toxic cloud for the U.S. worker, the middle-class and small business. The 1995 Speaker of the House, grew up an Army Brat, a great Patriot, first to speak out on dangers to the U.S. Gravest of dangers are the political gap between the right and modern-left, and further left now that core principles of liberalism were abandoned; and impairment of government business by career-bureaucrats delaying hundreds of appointments requiring security clearances and Senate confirmation for a year. Newt stresses this is not unprecedented. Abraham Lincoln faced hostility when taking office, of 1,500 staffers 1,400 were let go. Ronald Reagan fired 12,000 Air Traffic Controllers for walking off the job. Newt says that Civil Service and Union rules make it virtually impossible to discipline, or fire a federal employee. Are laws and executive actions that insulate bureaucrats from accountability unconstitutional? Has the world's foremost democracy been subverted by career-bureaucrats? Framers of the constitution never foresaw a 4th branch of government rising to power, is it time for Civil Service reform, or a 28th Amendment? Few know politics and operation of the U.S. Government better than Newt Gingrich. He goes on to explain complexities of the job; the process of pushing a bill through Congress, the health care bill (one-fifth of our economy), renegotiating NAFTA and foreign trade deals, rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, with public work accomplished at the state level, precluding costs of federal red-tape. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, the most sought after counsel of our day, the author of 34 books. I found those 301 pages to read like a text book on the U.S. Government. Every young professional, staffer, educator, business owner, or CEO should own a copy of "Understanding Trump." Review: Most people do not know Donald Trump. Here's your chance! - If you want to understand Trump, this is a book you want to get. Newt Gingrich has a PhD in history. He has a unique ability to apply a historical context to just about anything. He has a simple writing style that makes it easy to read. He was one of Trump's chief advisers during the campaign and still advises them during his presidency. Because of this, Newt has unique perspectives on how Donald Trump operates. Throughout this book, he uses countless examples of how Trump gets things done. One good example is the use of a technique called the OODA Loop. This technique was developed by US Air Force Col. John Boyd. The acronym stands for observe, orient, decide, act, and loopback to observe. He points out that this is how Trump gets things done. Newt observed him during the campaign and he says, "he would go to rallies, see what topics evoked the most reaction from the crowds, orient his focus to those issues, decide what his best message was, based on those reactions, and then act on them. Most often, that action would be in the form of a tweet designed to capture the news media's attention. Then he would immediately switch back to observing to see how his tweets or comments were perceived by his supporters." This is only one of the many examples that Newt gives in this book. Newt understands history, understands the political process, (he was Speaker of the House,) is a good friend of Trump and has observed him countless times over the years, before, during and after the campaign: now as Trump as president. If you want a source or how Trump operates, this is the book for you.

Required Reading...
A compelling book. Newt Gingrich offers a strong and insightful understanding of a complex and very misunderstood Donald Trump. An insider's perspective that we have heard about but until now only been able to imagine. Well written and easy to read. Fast paced and well rooted in facts, with references. Gingrich sounds like the well-informed and experienced political journeyman he is reputed to be. I enjoyed every page and have a very different perspective of the unusual individual holding the nations top political office.

So glad we won the election
Great book and Newt is one of my favorite conservatives. If you think about it these radical leftist individuals began attacking all conservatives and the president of the United States the very day that they lost the election. The crazy part is they never stopped attacking the good people of America. These radicalized fools somehow have rationalized it in their brains that what they're doing is okay. It's anti-American and a threat to our democracy. You simply didn't win and there's nothing you can do about it LOL. I guess they were so used to winning as of late that they assumed they wouldn't ever lose. Well every one of these radicals entered into the vote agreeing when they placed their vote that it was going to be one or the other. The time to protest is not after you enter willingly into an election and lose LOL. The time to demand that you could not live with it if the other side won the election would have been the minute he was selected as the Republican candidate. Not because you lost. Now what they don't seem to realize is that it doesn't matter if they agree or how they feel about the way in which we are running our country. Just like it didn't matter how we felt or were affected by the radical middle class hating mandates of Obama. We had actual cause To Raise Hell but we didn't even when the radical president gave our enemy trillions taxpayer dollars without Congressional approval. We didn't do anything about it because we knew that the American people elected Obama so our hands were tied and it was so difficult to get through all that time with a president banging on the middle class the whole time and creating the most radical black supremacist group our country has ever seen. Then cry victimhood and racism? Give me a break. We knew we couldn't do anything until we could win an election. It is unacceptable for these thugs to continue to attack us because we won. Keep on trying to glorify dogs like Kaepernick who of course was raised and adopted by a white upper-middle-class family and he had a upper-middle-class upbringing but is now using our country's national anthem to protest for black oppression and white privilege? The only privilege this country has is economic. These horrible people must get their power back so they can continue to dictate the way that you live knowing that none of their outrageous policy will affect them personally. Until the left can recognize reality and stop pretending that race is an issue in any of it we're not going to be able to overcome our conflicts. The first step to combating racism of course would be to eliminate the active black supremacist group in our country. Then there would be just a Level Playing Field at least. Some straggler black supremacist and some straggler white supremacist to deal with. It is incredible that these people have somehow trick their brains into thinking what they did to us with okay on any level. It is personal and will never be forgotten

IMPORTANT REVIEW
Please read this: I have to get this out to you while this book is just launched - I pre-ordered the book (and audio CD's) following the heady days of election victory, inauguration, and the numerous keeping of campaign promises. While awaiting the book's release, the national media and Democrat Party have put Americans under unrelenting siege of negativity, adhering to their long-held weapon of the "seriousness of the accusation is more important than actual facts". I survived it all okay, up through the Comey Congressional testimony that Donald Trump is not, nor ever was, under FBI investigation for possible collusion with the Russians to rig the Presidential election. Finally, that media lie can be put rest, or so I thought. Then, they immediately dropped the Russian bull-crap campaign and switched to the brand new assault of 'obstruction of justice'. Another of their "we have the person, now we just have to find a crime to accuse him of". It was then that the book and CD's arrived at my home. But by that time, I was so exhausted by the media's constant bruising that the new Gingrich material just sat on my table. Now, to my point: Today, I went against my depressed mindset and began to listen to the unabridged reading of the book by Newt on the CD's and found myself almost immediately uplifted and ready to fight back, anew. Please don't allow the ebbs and flows of media coverage and the cowardly position of entrenched Republican elites to dampen your desire to understand President Trump better. P.S. Although I am thoroughly enjoying this book, I have not yet finished it. So, I am withholding a 5-star rating only because of that. UPDATE 6/27/2017: Finished the book (audio CD set), and just had to add another star! 5 stars total. Newt did his homework, being the historian that he is. There is so much fascinating information, for which Newt provides support, that I know I'll re-visit this book again. I so enjoyed Newt's reading of his book, the dynamic, personable and spellbinding speaker that he is, that I know I made the correct decision to 'listen' to this benchmark in presidential history writing.

This is an awesome book. I pre-ordered the Kindle version and somehow also ordered the audio addition (which I did not need). Newt Gingrich has been around a long time and is very intelligent and savvy. He is also a historian and I learned a lot from this book. I wish he were a daily Advisor in the White House--someone our @POTUS can trust! I was for President Trump from the beginning and still proudly support him. At times during the campaign it seemed like David and Goliath. It was one of the most exciting nights of my life when President Trump won! The book takes you back to the Inauguration and I relived it. It starts years before that however. Draining that swamp is not going to be easy. Fake news and Russia Russia Russia is not appealing to people who care about the economy, jobs, and terrorists. Newt lays out a lot of great ideas for the future. I was raised by hard core Democrat parents and was 10 when JFK died. JFK would be considered a conservative today... more so than a lot of Republicans. I voted for Ronald Reagan and my brothers and I were Republicans. Our parents voted for Obama but the last years of their lives they were disillusioned with him and where our country was heading. I have hard core Democrat relatives and some of them don't speak to me anymore because of Trump! That is a sad state of affairs. I wish our country could come together and at least respect each individual's right to have their own political beliefs. Not sure how Democrats or far left would react to this book but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Because Mr Gingrich is a wonderful writer and thinker
Although I continue to receive offers to buy Newt Gingrich's book, "Understanding Trump", I've had it since it was released. Because Mr Gingrich is a wonderful writer and thinker, his book provides the a great deal of explanation of our 45th President, Trump's background and business approach to government, his agenda for our country and effort to accomplish what he promised during the campaign. What's upsetting is that political leaders in the Republican Party are refusing to assist in fulfilling this agenda as they seem determined to attempt to stab President Trump in the back. This is quite frustrating to me and many others who elected Trump to bring new interpretations with his agenda as to how the government should work to meet the needs of the American people. President Trump is one of the few candidates who really listened to the American people like Reagan as opposed to the other 16 Republican candidates. The Republican Swamp in Washington needs to understand what the American people desire and none of them, with a couple exceptions, were listening to us. We are tired of the family dynasties (the Bushes, etc.) along with long time Republican politicians who are more interested in receiving financial backing from the big moneyed interests on K Street.in order to gain reelection! This book should be required reading for everyone!

'How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together ...
A book of value for our times. A quote from Understanding Trump ...'How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity.' We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity. When America is united, America is totally unstoppable. Amazon as a valued customer, may I offer a suggestion? Many Amazon customers are not avid movie viewers, due to demand on free time or specific interest to your Prime offers. Checking my account, like many others, I have been sold on Amazon's business savy. Suggestion, would be to offer a mini-Prime for your dedicated customers. My cost to have this fine book shipped was greater than 50% of the book price.

so why waste it over trifles
Still have to finish this, but indications from the first 8 chapters are positive. In essence, Trump is a 'doer'. Other Presidents, bar some exceptions, were largely 'sayers'. If he's short of temper, and impatient with obfuscators, toadies and specious arguments, who and which abound, then that's good- it's not because he's a child, but rather he likes to get things done. It's not so much he doesn't suffer fools gladly, it's just the pragmatism to realise he doesn't have to, so why should be? Moreover, he's cognisant of the fact that time is very limited and the most precious resource, so why waste it over trifles, like so many previous incumbents have done. Where was the outrage over the profligate wars and crippling bureaucracy presided over by Clinton, Bush and Obama? Not to mention that Dubya allowed 9/11 to happen on his watch; whatever other controversies surround that heinous event, this one fact is incontrovertible.

Premonitorio.
