This is a fairly accuate reproduction sling
I bought this sling to put on one of my Gew1888 German Commission rifles, it pretty well matches the original.

Good fit. Cant get an original (80 year old leather wouldn't be good anyhow). Looks good on the rifle.

Perfect Fit
While not an exact copy, it is a well made sling- the leather is of an appropriate color and strength and the stitching is nice and straight. It is also very easy to install in regular or parade style. If you have a Gew 88, 88/05, or 88/14, this will do the trick at the range or in the trenches.

Only real option
There's not really anyone else out there making these so your options are limited unfortunately. There quality isn't very great of leather or hardware but it works.

Nice repro for the price.
Leather was a little stiff, but some Neatsfoot oil softened it up. This is the second model sling with the swivel sewn to the sling.

Looks great, but will it fit?
It's near impossible to find an original G98 sling, so I opted for this repro with the intent of putting it on my Czech M98/22.The quality of construction is nice. the leather feels sturdy and the patterning is attractive. Unfortunately, I can't give a more thorough review for one reason: it simply does not fit on my rifle.Despite being a G98 pattern rifle, the rear sling mount will not accommodate the spring loaded latch. The dimensions of the latch leave no clearance for it to attach in any meaningful way to the sling mount. Please see the attached photos to see what I mean. On the second photo, I'm comparing this sling latch (left) with an original sling latch (right). You'll notice that the original sling latch is slimmer in profile, and easily installs into the mount. The new production sling latch is wider in profile, and makes it impossible to mount without digging into the wood of the stock.I'll have to see if I can find a way to swap the sling latches so that the original is on the new sling, because as of now, I don't really see a way of making this work. I am not very handy with a needle and thread though!
