The auto-locking gate is quite good. The nose of the carabiner is smooth so it doesn't catch on my dog's harness, unlike a hook-nosed carabiner. The swivel moves freely, and I can visually see how it's secured using a retaining ring around the post. Overall, good quality and value.

These are really nice, I got them because my dog kept escaping off of her runner and I have tried numerous different clips, this one is the only one that actually keeps her from running off during the day while I am not home, good quality, the lock doesn't freeze up in the winter, and so far has held up for several months.

Full stop, I took off the bottom d ring attachment immediately as i only wanted them for the carabiner.Got these carabiners for two main reasons. 1st and most obvious is it will securely hold my key ring of 20+ keys I carry all day long. It would be HIGHLY unlikely that in my day to day activities I would accidentally open this carabiner and drop my keys “knock on wood”. Since it has the twist to open gate, the weird/odd forces that would be needed to open it I believe don’t exist.The last reason is it’s a very handy size. The others I’ve seen range from 3” up to 5” and the price goes up with the size. For about $6 a piece and the fact they are only about 2 1/2” its a win for me.

I've had a thicker metal piece unit in the past and it wouldn't close as it bent out of shape. So I was dropping keys out of it all the time. This unit closes and opens easily and quickly. And it's very secure when it's closed. It's very light and can hold quite a bit. I highly recommend it and if I haver have to replace this one in the future, I'll probably purchase the same unit as I can't imagine anything else that would beat it functionally, quality-wise, and price-wise.

I really like these. I have a dog leash I wasn't quite happy with so I revamped it using these. I also ordered a second set for in case I need them. I do have some issues with my fingers so I use 2 hands to work the clasp but good hands would find this a breeze to use.

I have a toy and a miniature poodle that I like to give room to roam in the yard. They - and I - could not be happier!!!

It's small and doesn't look very strong.The "locking" mechanism is spring loaded and does not have a hook, so it provides no strength or security from coming undone.With the design, the loop would work with a strap.But if you use a cord, it will slide to one side, tilt the whole thing, and put shear stress on the connecting pin that could definitely weaken or break it.
